Here is some live footage of Ixion's Wheel live at Kenny's Castaway performing Intangible Dream, a song that was aired on some local commercial and college radio stations back in the early 90's. We had some great people in attendance at the show including Lisa Lisa, Freddy Starr, Rick Rubin, Atlantic Records, etc.. Burlesque legend, World Famous *Bob* was a star of Ixion Burlesque from 2003 through the 2005 season. She wowed the audiences in shows like "Ixion or the Man at the Wheel" and "The Pleiades, or the Seven Daughters of Atlas". First up is Ixion, he's a 3 year old Silver Bengal, then we have Loo Loo, a 18 month old Marbled Bengal. We got this cat wheel with the hope that it would help Loo Loo burn off some exces energy. We've only had it for three days, but she will go on the wheel by herself, and have a little jog. Ixion is a bit more tentative, I have to put him on the wheel manually, but he seems pretty open to the whole idea. To get the 'turbo speed' out of Loo Loo, her momma puts a finger down on the pad's surface , which makes a noise as the wheel spins.. + Informações

Born in London in 1849, Eliza Weathersby started in burlesque at a young age. Previously of London's Strand Theater, she came to the USA in early 1869 as part of the Elise Holt Troupe. When Holt got bogged down with show cancellations and money problems, Eliza was easily recruited by Lydia Thompson and became one of the British Blondes. The 'Blondes' were still riding high from their massive triumph with the burlesque "Ixion, or the Man at the Wheel". In Feb. 1869, Lydia took the troupe from Woods Theater to the larger Niblo's Garden. Eliza played supporting roles, sang naughty songs and was a favorite with the critics. Weathersby became a regular at New York's Niblo's Garden, Wallack's and Woods Theater. When she starred in the burlesque "Evangeline" her career began to take off. Eliza was especially famous in New Orleans where the company had long stays, and where she performed in many burlesques including "Ixion" and "Aladdin" during the 1870's. The actress married NYC socialite / actor / comedian Nathaniel C. Goodwin. They formed a burlesque company called The Eliza Weathersby Froliques which was active from the late 1870's till Eliza became ill in 1884. She never recovered, instead her situation got worse. She died in March, 1887 in New York City at the age of 38. Her funeral was attended by the entire performing arts community of New York and was such an event as to be covered in a large article in the New York Times. This performance took place on Friday, May 21, 2004 at the Tank Theater, 42nd Street, NYC.
