Follow me into the mist See it rise above your knees Feel it penetrate your bones And cover up the old tombstones Can you feel all their cold Cold that crawls into the core Like a hand that skims your neck See the figures all in black Welcome to Raven's Inn Where your soul will burn within On witches Sabbath or Candlemas Eve When the bell will toll thirteen The old priest today is blind 'Cause the evil took his eyes He's the only one who lives But I'm sure he's not so pleased "Beware my son because tonight All the witches here will rise When the evil makes you feel lost Use the shadow of the Cross" Welcome to Raven's Inn Where your soul will burn within On witches Sabbath or Candlemas Eve When the bell will toll thirteen. + Informações |

Shades of Gray: Shell Shock - Combat Stress Reaction Documentary (1947) 33.72 min. | 4.529412 avaliação | 15483 exibições thefilmarchive.org Combat stress reaction (CSR), in the past commonly known as shell shock or battle fatigue, is a military term used to categorize a range of behaviours resulting from the stress of battle which decrease the combatant's fighting efficiency. The most common symptoms are fatigue, slower reaction times, indecision, disconnection from one's surroundings, and inability to prioritize. Combat stress reaction is generally short-term and should not be confused with acute stress disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, or other long-term disorders attributable to combat stress, although any of these may commence as a combat stress reaction. The ratio of stress casualties to battle casualties varies with the intensity of the fighting, but with intense fighting it can be as high as 1:1. In low-level conflicts it can drop to 1:10 (or less). In World War I, shell shock was considered a psychiatric illness resulting from injury to the nerves during combat. The horrors of trench warfare meant that about 10% of the fighting soldiers were killed (compared to 4.5% during World War II) and the total proportion of troops who became casualties (killed or wounded) was 56%. Whether a shell-shock sufferer was considered "wounded" or "sick" depended on the circumstances. The large proportion of World War I veterans in the European population meant that the symptoms were common to the culture. At the outbreak of World War II most in the United States military had forgotten the .... + Informações |

Shock: Vincent Price, Lynn Bari, Frank Latimore, Anabel Shaw, Stephen Dunne (1946 Movie) 69.50 min. | 5.0 avaliação | 20284 exibições DVD: www.amazon.com thefilmarchive.org Shock is a 1946 film noir directed by Alfred L. Werker. The film tells the story of a psychiatrist, Dr. Cross (Vincent Price), who is treating a young woman, Janet Stewart (Anabel Shaw), who is in a coma-state, brought on when she heard loud arguing, went to her window and saw a man strike his wife with a candlestick and kill her. It also stars Lynn Bari as Dr. Cross's nurse/lover, Elaine Jordan. As Stewart comes out of her shock, she recognizes Dr. Cross as the killer. He then takes her to his sanitarium and at Elaine's urging, gives Janet an overdose of insulin under the pretense of administering insulin shock therapy. He can't bring himself to murder her in cold blood, though, and asks Elaine to get the medicine to save her. Elaine refuses, they argue, and he strangles her. Dr. Cross saves Janet's life, but now faces two murder charges. Above and beyond the typical characteristics of the horror film genre, reviewer Bosley Crowther of The New York Times took particular offense to the film's treatment of Price as a psychiatrist who attempts to do away with his patient, a woman who has lost her mind after witnessing the murder her own doctor had committed. Coming in the wake of World War II, in which so may people had suffered shock and could benefit from treatment of their anxieties, Crowther asked the "critical observer to protest in no uncertain tones" the movie's "social disservice" in its fostering "apprehension against the .... + Informações |

Tony Capstick and Llyod George (4) 2.82 min. | 4.7916665 avaliação | 8133 exibições This is in response to a request. There are so many people remembering Tony and getting in touch with me, thank you all so much. This was one of his favourites about David Lloyd George who was the first and only Welsh Priminister largely responsible for introducing old age pensions, unemployment benefit and state support for the sick and infirm - basically the founder of the welfare state. Now we have a Scottish Priminister largely responsible for taking all our pensions away! Round about 1978 Tony recorded an album at a pub called the King George in Barnsley, I will quote the sleeve notes:"If you are some kind of horrid pervert and you have bought this record because it's on Rubber Records then you are in for a shock pal. It's just me singing and talking in a pub in Barnsley in my native South Yorkshire. I'd like to thank my mate Dave Burland for setting up the session, the Landlord Albion Turner for his hospitality and Mick and Jed for smoking my cigs. I cant remember where the songs came from but the jokes came from John Leonard, Peter Cooper and Ken Gregory" The Album (pictured) is called 'Tony Capstick does a Turn' - note the stuffed 'Terns' on the pint pots. (For those not from round these parts 'doing a turn' is like doing spot on stage, a gig or whatever). If you listen carefully towards the end, someone drops a pint pot! This is cutting edge stuff you sre experiencing. If my memory serves me right he recorded another album at the ship Inn in Mexborough entitled .... + Informações |
