Hoyt Axton - Della and the dealer 1980 2.77 min. | 4.9751554 avaliação | 45551 exibições Hoyt Axton - Della and the dealer 1980 It was Della and a dealer and a dog named Jake, And a cat named Kalamazoo, Left the city in a pick-up truck. Gonna make some dreams come true. Yeah, they rolled out west where the wild sun sets, And the coyote bays at the moon. Della and a dealer and a dog named Jake, And a cat named Kalamazoo. If that cat could talk, what tales he'd tell, About Della and the Dealer and the dog as well. But the cat was cool, And he never said a mumblin' word. Down Tucson way there's a small cafe, Where they play a little cowboy tune. And the guitar picker was a friend of mine, By the name of Randy Boone. Yeah, Randy played her a sweet love song, And Della got a fire in her eye. The Dealer had a knife and the dog had a gun, And the cat had a shot of rye. If that cat could talk, what tales he'd tell, About Della and the Dealer and the dog as well. But the cat was cool, And he never said a mumblin' word. Yeah, the Dealer was a killer; he was evil and mean, And he was jealous of the fire in her eyes. He snorted his coke through a century note, And he swore that Boone would die. And the stage was set when the lights went out, There was death in Tucson town. Two shadows ran for the bar back door, But one stayed on the ground. If that cat could talk, what tales he'd tell, About Della and the Dealer and the dog as well. But the cat was cool, And he never said a mumblin' word. Two shadows ran from the bar that night, And a dog and a cat ran too. And the tires .... + Informações |

Hoyt Axton - I'm A Good Ol' Rebel 1.90 min. | 4.6953316 avaliação | 95337 exibições Hoyt Axton - I'm A Good Ol' Rebel I made a video to Hoyt Axton's song "I'm a good ol' rebel". Credits to: Hoyt Axton. The South Will Rise Again! Lyrics: Oh, I'm a good old rebel, Now that's just what I am, And for this Yankee nation, I do no give a damn. I'm glad I fought a ganner, I only wish we won. I aint asked any pardon for anything I've done. I hates the Yankee nation and everything they do. I hates the declaration of independence, too. I hates the glorious union, just dripping with our blood. I hates the striped banner, and fitted all I could I road with Robert E. Lee, For three years, thereabout. Got wounded in four places, And I starved at point lookout. I caught the Romatism Campin' in the snow. But I killed a chance of Yankees And I'd like to kill some more. Three hundred thousand Yankees Is stiff in southern dust. We got three hundred thousand Before they conquered us They died of Southern Fever And southern steel and shot I wish there were three million Instead of what we got. I can't pick up my musket And fight 'um down no more But I ain't gonna love 'um Now that is certain sure And I don't want no pardon For what I was and am I won't be reconstructed And I do not give a damn Oh, I'm a good old rebel, Now that's just what I am, And for this Yankee nation, I do no give a damn. I'm glad I fought a ganner, I only wish we won. I aint asked any pardon for anything I've done. I aint asked any pardon for anything I've done.. + Informações |

Hoyt sure has a powerful voice and it really shows on this track. The LP features loads of singular vocals in which Mr. Axton holds notes for entire breaths. Hoyt Axton - I Dream Of Highways 2.65 min. | 5.0 avaliação | 3953 exibições Hoyt Axton (March 25, 1938 - October 26, 1995) was yet another singer/songwriter from Oklahoma. In addition he was a film & TV actor. He began by singing folk music on the West coast. His mother, Mae Boren Axton, co-wrote the Elvis Presly hit "Heartbreak Hotel" with Tommy Durden. Perhaps Hoyt's most famous as a songwriter for his tune "Greenback Dollar". Among Hoyt's credits as an actor were frequent appearances on the TV series Bonanza where he and actor Parnell Roberts, who played Adam Cartwright, would often break into song. Hoyt co-wrote "i Dream Of Highways" with Renee Armand. Renee sings the second on this song. Both Hoyt and his mother Mae were inducted into the Oklahoma Hall Of Fame. Hoyt Axton - Evangelina 1981 3.17 min. | 5.0 avaliação | 18789 exibições Hoyt Axton - Evangelina 1981 And I dream in the morning That she brings me water. And I dream in the evening That she brings me wine. Just a poor man's daughter From Puerta Pinasco. South of the border In old Mexico Evangelina in old Mexico. There's a great hot desert Down in Mexicali. And if you don't have water Boy, you'd better not go. Tequila won't get you Across that desert. To Evangelina, in old Mexico And the fire I feel for the woman I love Is drivin' me insane. Knowin' she's waitin', And I can't get there. God only knows that I wracked my brain To try and find a way To reach that woman In old Mexico. (Instrumental) And I met a kind man He guarded the border He said, "You don't need papers, I'll let you go, I can tell that you love her By the look in your eyes, now". She's the rose of the desert In old Mexico And the fire I feel for the woman I love Is drivin' me insane. Knowin' she's waitin', And I can't get there. God only knows that I wracked my brain To try and find a way To reach that woman In old Mexico. And I dream in the morning That she brings me water And I dream in the evening That she brings me wine. Just a poor man's daughter From Puerta Pinasco. South of the border In old Mexico Evangelina, I miss you so. I miss you so.. + Informações |

Hoyt Axton & Xavier / Joy To The World 3.52 min. | 4.780488 avaliação | 18164 exibições I was going down the road on our tour bus last night, sorting out my files on some hard drives and came across this wonderful moment in time when Hoyt Axton came flying in on his jet with the intention of laying some of his songs on Abe's band, Xavier. Abe was two years old when I brought him to the Troubadour in LA to see Hoyt and I remember him saying to me, "HE IS BIG!!" When Abe and Cathy were about five and three, Hoyt would babysit them both for hours and tell them the most magical stories. One time we were staying at Hoyt's house in Lake Tahoe for a week. Arlo and Hoyt were in a very deep discussion and Abe (6yrs) came up to me and showed me the antique grizzly bear he just broke. I told him to go tell Hoyt. Abe was terrified. He walked over and stood there trying to get Hoyt's attention away from the "important discussion"......Then, Hoyt looked down at Abe and saw his broken "antique grizzly bear" , he freaked out, "MY ANTIQUE GRIZZLY BEAR!!!!!" He grabbed the bear, out of Abe's little hands, GROWLING, he ripped it up some more and threw it across the room! Then he looked down close to Abe's face with A GREAT BIG HOYT AXTON GRIN, and said, "I didn't like that bear anyway." Anyway, didn't mean to ramble, we just miss him so much. I think this took place in 1988 or '89. I'll find out. "The teen agers" in Xavier are Tim Sears, guitar, Abe Guthrie keyboards and Randy Cormier, drums. Mom on video camera and George on camera. + Informações |
