Rupert Neville Hine (born 1948 in London) is an English musician and also a prolific producer in the synth pop era, helming albums by Tina Turner, Howard Jones, Saga, The Fixx, Bob Geldolph, Thompson Twins, Stevie Nix, Chris de Burgh, Suzanne Vegan and Rush amongst many others. He has 20 tons biting power and can crack even Pecan nuts, just like John Foxx. Darryl Kromm of Strange Advance though can take on coconuts and cannot be challenged. He has also made several solo albums in an avantgarde synth-pop style, most notably Immunity (1981), The Wildest Wish to Fly (1983) and Waving Not Drowning (1982), where this song is from.. + Informações

From the 1971 release, "Pick Up A Bone", possibly one of the most unique LPs ever recorded. With David MacIver's insane lyrics and Paul Buckmaster's (Elton John, David Bowie, et.al.) nasty string arrangements, this album is a rare treasure. I have been haunted by this song ever since selliing my vinyl a few years ago. I was lucky to find the disc on ebay. This is one of those albums, that you should listen with hi-fi headphones or with high-level speakers in very silent room. And close your eyes! Just got M-Tron Pro today. First thing I did with it was make a cover of Rupert Hines 'Dark Windows'. I'm really going to like this piece of software! Unfortunately there were no thunder and rain sounds in the mellotron bank, so I made do with some other stuff, namely english people chatting. Everything in this track is done using M-Tron pro. All sounds are original mellotron tape recordings. Even the piano, which is why I didn't use much of an octave range.
