A woman used a knife to kill her son's girlfriend, the mother of the suspect's 3-year-old grandson who was present during the slaying. The revised reported cause of death came after the arraignment of Onita Higdon, 53, of Highland Park. Higdon fidgeted and mumbled words as officers led her into the courtroom. The judge entered a not guilty plea for her on first-degree murder charges. Witnesses and police said they saw Higdon wielding a wood-handled ax over 26-year-old Mila Perry on Monday at her son's Candler Street home in Highland Park. Perry was the girlfriend of Higdon's son. But an autopsy found no ax wounds and concluded Perry was killed with a kitchen knife. Police arrested Higdon after a four-hour standoff with the grandmother holding Perry's 3-year-old hostage inside the home. The boy was not hurt.. + Informações

Shannon Merriman, 22, is charged with murder in the death of her 2-year-old son Marcus Davis Jr. Warrants say the child had swelling to the left side of his brain and bruises to the left side of his body, buttocks and foot. The documents also show doctors told investigators the boy's injuries were not consistent with a fall, like Merriman had first reported. A second warrant lists items taken from Merriman's home including a marijuana cigarette butt, a rolled dollar bill with white powder residue and infant clothing.. + Informações

A woman has been charged in connection with the death of her newborn baby boy in Campbell County. According to the Campbell County Sessions Court Clerk, Wanda Kay Cieslak, 39 was charged with first degree murder and aggravated child abuse. LaFollette Police said the infant child was found dead at a home. A LaFollette Police detective said Cieslak gave birth to the boy in a house that had been quarantined for meth. Police said Cieslak then asphyxiated the boy and disposed of him by placing him in a garbage bag. The court documents said drugs were injected into Cieslak's system before she gave birth to the child.. + Informações

A Florida woman fatally shot her son and then turned the gun on herself at a central Florida gun range, authorities said. Marie Moore, 44, of Altamonte Springs and her 20-year-old son, Mitchell, were sharing a firing lane at the Shoot Straight range Sunday, Casselberry police said. Shooters in an adjacent lane said the mother and son seemed to be getting along fine. A security video shows Moore walk up behind her son, point a revolver at the back of his head and fire a single shot, police said. She then put the gun in her mouth and pulled the trigger. The son died at the scene, and the mother died later at the hospital. Family members told police that Moore had a history of mental illness. The Minister comes to ASAL and meets the correspondent who explains that her son has been performing poorly and has not attended college regularly. The Minister asks them to bring her son. The Principal & Correspondent are flabbergasted as her son is standing next to her. When explained the minister says that he is not Alagesan! The boy reveals the story saying that he is a duplicate arranged by Alagesan. Minister gets tensed and she sends some policemen to trace the real Alagesan and asks them to brings him to the college. They finds him at a lodge and it becomes a tough job to bring him. Algates comes to the college and slaps the duplicate infront of the correspondent who is infuriated by this attitude. She says that she will give the TC immediately. The Minister says that she cannot do that! The Principal realize the situation is tough to handle and finds a solution. She suggests that it is better to ask the real Alagesan to attend classes regularly and it would be the right punishment for him. Everyone accepts the idea, but the correspondent realizes that a new headache has started in the college.
