Excelente grupo pop surgido de la fertil cantera de Manchester que tenía como lider en sus filas al cantante Peter Noone. Los Herman's Hermits se forman a finales de 1963, primero con el nombre de The Heartbeats y mas tarde con el de The Cyclones. En 1964 son descubiertos por el productor Mickie Most (que ya estaba teniendo exito con los Animals), y poco despues, los componentes del grupo deciden cambiarse el nombre por el definitivo Herman's Hermits. El grupo estaba formado por Peter Noone como cantante, Keith Hoopwood y Derek Leckenby a las guitarras, Karl Green al bajo y Barry Withwam a la bateria. Most se encargaría de producir al grupo, además de seleccionar las canciones que debían grabar; años mas tarde, Most confesó que en las sesiones de grabación participaban músicos como Jimmy Page o John Paul Jones (futuros Led Zeppelin), pero también confirmó que el resto de la banda estaba presente en muchas de las grabaciones. Grandes musicos, gran productor, grandes canciones... ¿como podían fracasar?... no lo hicieron.
