Mimir is a jotun (a giant) that guards the well/spring/source of wisdom. And im sure there are many more terms I can explain but I'll get to that some other time. now regarding my translation, I meant to say "ancient god" where I wrote "old god" I'm not sure why I didn't write ancient as planned, but it doesn't change the meaning of the song.
