Elk was found throughout Tennessee. The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) reintroduce Elk into Tennessee. Elk now numbers over 300. I am not a hunter, but the TWRA approved Elk hunting In Tennessee. The last hunting season the first since 1865 was held October 18-22, 2010. Only five permits were available for antlered bulls only. Four of those permits were randomly selected through a drawing conducted by the TWRA. The fifth permit was donated to a Non-Governmental Organization. The Hatfield Knob Elk Viewing Tower was constructed on August 27, 2005, on the Sundquist Unit of the North Cumberland Wildlife Management Area. TWRA volunteer Terry Lewis and his wife, Jane, designed and purchased building materials for the tower. This is the link to a website tennessee.gov NASHVILLE --- Three hunters recorded harvests during Tennessee's second-ever managed elk hunt which concluded Friday, Oct. 22 at North Cumberland Wildlife Management Area. The three sportsmen join five persons who all harvested an elk during last year's historic first managed hunt. Five persons again participated in this year's hunt, four winning the right to participate by computerized drawing and the fifth participant was the recipient of a permit that is donated to a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) which this year was the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. Construction of Gautrain Hatfield Station. March 2011 The Gautrain Hatfield Station is a terminal station where the North -- South train service will commence and terminates. The station is located within the Hatfield Business Node east of the Pretoria CBD adjacent to the existing PRASA railway network north of the University of Pretoria. The North - South train service is servicing a total of 8 stations over a 62 km distance with the Hatfield and Park stations as terminal stations. The train service interfaces with PRASA rail services at the Hatfield, Pretoria and Park stations. A safe walkway is planned with PRASA's Hartebeesspruit station to facilitate easy transfers to and from the Hatfield station. Passengers traveling to OR Tambo International or Rhodesfield will have to transfer at the Marlboro or Sandton stations. The Gautrain is seen as an impetus to office park and residential apartment developments in support of the services industry and the nearby University.
