"The Breakup Song (They Don't Write 'Em) was the first hit for The Greg Kihn Band in 1981. During the early 80's, new wave music was soaring in popularity and the classic rock "sound" was not as relevant unfortunately. Fortunately however, this amazing song not only brings back those catchy classic rock sounds with it's amazing hook (as well as fun uses of "noises during the verses), but it also brings back the "good old days" in it's lyrics. Greg Kihn is paralleling his recent breakup along with the notion that they don't write love songs like they did back in rock's golden ages. Without a doubt, this song is one of the best from the 80's and anyone who loves classic rock & roll music can appreciate such awesome and most importantly TRUE lyrics! I also added in some sweet House of the Devil (the 2009 breakout horror flick that takes place and pays homage to 1970's/1980's horror movies) pictures because the movie uses this song in it. The 80's did have some memorable music, but this song (even though it might not be as big as some other 80's songs) is definitely one of the more memorable ones for me.. + Informações

I`m not sure how many of the wonderful Greg Kihn Band albums have been re-issued in CD format. They all should be! On a sad note RIP Dave Carpender. Greg Kihn Band`s brilliant lead guitarist from the early days. His playing always had a wonderful feel and sense of joy and fun to it. Sadly Dave Carpender`s gone but the beauty of his music lives in the recordings. The wonderful recordings. I would like to add that this particular clip has stayed on YouTube by the good grace of Mr Greg Kihn. I thank him for allowing it to stay and suggest that anyone interested should check out the official Greg Kihn CDs and DVDs via the following sites.
