Goanna vs eastern water Dragon Never seen nature footage! rare! while I was taking nature footage of a 2m diamond python in a backyard pond; I turned to the sound of a adolescent Goanna (monitor lizard) hunting and chasing a fully grown Eastern Water Dragon in a full speed chase 30 metres until the kill by the Goanna was made after the dragon was cornered. About Goanna - Goanna is an Australian folk-rock band, notable in integrating social protest with popular music. Formed by singer-songwriter Shane Howard in the late 1970s, they produced three full albums, and a very rare four song EP record. The original name of the band was "The Goanna Band", which was the name used on the EP release in 1979. However, the original name was soon shortened to simply "Goanna" by the time that the album Spirit of Place was released in the early 1980s. They were signed to WEA Australia. Goanna's début album Spirit of Place won the ARIA Best Album of the Year for 1982, with their first major hit, "Solid Rock", winning Best Single of the Year. This song touched on the displacement of aboriginal tribes by the encroaching European settlers. The Lace Goanna or Lace Monitor (Varanus varius) is the second largest Australian goanna and can grow to two metres. If a Lace Monitor feels threatened it will definitely race for the nearest tree. Like other goannas they hunt and forage for their food on the ground. Goannas combine predatory and scavenging behaviour. A goanna will prey upon any animal it can catch that is small enough to eat whole. The best known monitor lizard is one of the biggest species, the Komodo Dragon (varanus komodoensis) The name goanna was given to Australian monitor lizards by the early European settlers. Wildlife in North Australia series Part 6. Some images and short video taken in the Top End of the Northern Territory of Australia, of the the Yellow Spotted Monitor, known to locals as Goanna. In recent years it has been reported by experts that this species is steadily declining into extinition due to the introduction of the poisonous cane toad, which is also killing many other species of native wildlife. Also known as the Northern Sand Goanna or the Floodplain Monitor, these reptiles grow up to 1.4 meters in length. Occupying the northern sections of Australia, this goanna is considered robust and adapts to a variety of habitats which vary from coastal, grasslands, woodlands and floodplains. This goanna has an incredible highly developed sense of smell and it's diet consists of small verterbrates and insects, favoring turtle eggs that it will dig up and devour. According to the Northern Territory's Government's Department of Natural Resources, Enviroment and the Arts, in just one years survey on two sites, the population of this goanna is estimated to have declined about 77% and 90% (on each site), due to the invasion of the introduced cane toad that has made it's way from Queensland into the Northern Territory. Up close with an Australian Lace Goanna (Lace Monitor) Lizard, just a 20 minute drive out of the Sydney CBD! This thing was close to 2 meters long, amazing! Sorry for the shaky camera. The Lace Goanna or Lace Monitor (Varanus varius) is the second largest Australian goanna and can grow to two metres. Its range is restricted to eastern Australia, where it is found from Melbourne in the far south all the way up to Cape York in the north. If a Lace Monitor feels threatened it will definitely race for the nearest tree. They generally spend a fair bit of their time in large trees, so much so that some people call them tree goannas. They are believed to eat more birds and eggs than other goannas. But they are good runners, burrowers and swimmers as well. Like other goannas they hunt and forage for their food on the ground. Here's a very unexpected nature film. This native Australia Goanna at Stanwell Tops, New South Wales, Australia, literally dropped in from the bush at the window onto the windowsill right next to me! Not only is that remarkable enough, he then decided to walk around the outside of at least half of my house clinging to windows sills and walls!! And even more remarkable was that I was able to film him with the video function of my Cannon still camera. Every time he dropped I thought that was the end of it but no, he kept coming back on his relentless walk.. + Informações

Heat at a decent level starts all over, starting at the back of the throat and then the whole mouth goes and the front of mouth gets it last and then it stays for ages. Its nice and chunky too so can go with a range of things and gives a nice garlic/gingerish aftertaste.. I played guitar and guitar solos on the first studio demos of original Goanna songs recorded at Greg Bee's studios, Geelong and left before the band moved to Melbourne. Played a highlight support at the Eureka Hotel Geelong supporting Cold Chisel who were on a national tour promoting their second successful charting album: Breakfast at Sweethearts.
