Gerry Rafferty - Right Down the Line 4.53 min. | 4.9612737 avaliação | 879873 exibições A perfect song, for lovers out there... You know I need your love, You got that hold over me Long as I got your love, You know that I'll never leave When I wanted you to share my life, I had no doubt in my mind And it's been you, woman, right down the line I know how much I lean on you, Only you can see Changes that I've been true, Have left there mark on me You've been as constant as the northern star, The brightest light that shines It's been you, woman, right down the line I just wanna say this is my way Of telling you everything, I could never say before Yeah this is my way of telling you that everyday, I'm loving you so much more Cause you believed in me through my darkest night Put something better inside of me, You brought me into the light Threw away all those crazy dreams, I put them all behind And it was you, woman, right down the line I just wanna say this is my way Of telling you everything, I could never say before Yeah this is my way of telling you that everyday, I'm loving you so much more If I should doubt myself, If I'm losing ground I wont turn to someone else, They'd only let me down When I wanted you to share my life, I had no doubt in my mind And it's been you, woman, right down the line. + Informações |

Gerry Rafferty - "Right Down The Line" 4.43 min. | 4.928571 avaliação | 9537 exibições City to City is an album by Scottish singer-songwriter Gerry Rafferty. It was Rafferty's first solo release in six years - and first release of any kind since 1975 - due to his tenure in the band Stealer's Wheel and subsequent legal proceedings which prevented Rafferty from releasing any new solo recordings for the next three years. The album was strongly received, peaking at #1 in the US and going Platinum[4], as well as reaching #6 in the UK and achieving Gold status. "Baker Street", "Right Down the Line" and "Home and Dry" were successfully released as singles. "Baker Street" is widely perceived as Rafferty's signature song and by October 2010 had reached 5 million plays on British radio.. + Informações |

Stuck In The Middle With You - Stealers Wheel 3.45 min. | 4.9859095 avaliação | 2385999 exibições Groovy! "Stuck in the Middle With You" or, as originally titled, "Stuck in the Middle", is a song by Joe Egan and Gerry Rafferty and performed by their band Stealers Wheel. Stuck in the Middle With You was released on Stealers Wheel's 1972 self-titled debut album Stealers Wheel. The single sold over one million copies, eventually peaking in 1973 at #6 in the US Billboard Hot 100 chart and #8 in the UK Singles Chart. Stealers Wheel is a Scottish folk rock/rock band formed in Paisley, Renfrewshire in 1972 by former school friends Joe Egan and Gerry Rafferty. The band broke up in 1975 and was re-formed in 2008. Rafferty and Egan first met when they were teenagers in Paisley and they became the core of Stealers Wheel. In the early 1970s, the band was considered to be the British version of American folk/rock super group Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. They were initially joined by Roger Brown, Rab Noakes and Ian Campbell in 1972. However, that line-up only lasted a few months and by the time the band was signed to A&M Records later that same year, Brown, Noakes and Campbell had been replaced by Paul Pilnick, Tony Williams and Rod Coombes. This line-up recorded their eponymous debut album, Stealers Wheel and was produced by the influential American songwriters and producers Leiber & Stoller. The album was a critical and commercial success reaching number fifty in the US album charts, with their million selling hit single "Stuck in the Middle", coming from the album. Gerry Rafferty - Baker street 6.03 min. | 4.951807 avaliação | 168478 exibições *I don't own the rights to this song* New music every week. Subscribe, rate, comment. Lyrics: Windin' your way down on Baker Street Light in your head and dead on your feet Well another crazy day You'll drink the night away And forget about everything This city desert makes you feel so cold. It's got so many people but it's got no soul And it's taking you so long To find out you were wrong When you thought it had everything You used to think that it was so easy You used to say that it was so easy But you're tryin' You're tryin' now Another year and then you'll be happy Just one more year and then you'll be happy But you're cryin' You're cryin' now Way down the street there's a lad in his place He opens the door he's got that look on his face And he asks you where you've been You tell him who you've seen And you talk about anything He's got this dream about buyin' some land He's gonna give up the booze and the one night stands And then he'll settle down there's a quiet little town And forget about everything But you know he'll always keep movin' You know he's never gonna stop movin Cus he's rollin' He's the rollin' stone And when you wake up it's a new mornin' The sun is shinin' it's a new morning You're goin' You're goin' home.. + Informações |

Get it right next time - Gerry Rafferty. 4.73 min. | 5.0 avaliação | 3383 exibições Get it right next time - by Gerry Rafferty. By the way, before anyone says it, I know that this song is from the Night Owl album. It's just that the cover art of City to City is one of my favorites as it was my first Gerry Rafferty album. I also think that it is an iconic image of the artist, so I used it on the video. Enjoy the song! You can also visit his website at: www.gerryrafferty.com. + Informações |

Gerry Rafferty - The Ark - "City to City" 1978 5.78 min. | 4.8711658 avaliação | 110506 exibições Gerry Rafferty - The Ark The Ark ------Gerry Rafferty See the dark night has come down on us The world is livin in its dream But now we know that we can wake up from this sleep And set out on the journey Find a ship to take us on the way. The time has come to trust that guiding light And leavin all the rest behind Well take the road that leads down to the waterside And set out on the journey Find a ship to take us on the way. And well sail out on the water Yes well feel the sea grow Yes well meet out on the water Where are all strangers are known. If you travel blindly, if you fall The truth is there to set you free And when your heart can see just one thing in this life Well set out on the journey Find a ship to take us on the way. And well sail out on the water Yes well feel the sea grow Yes well meet out on the water Where are all strangers are known. See the dark night has come down on us The world is livin in its dream But now we know that we can wake up from this sleep And set out on the journey Find a ship to take us on the way. And well sail out on the water Yes well feel the sea grow Yes well meet out on the water Where are all strangers are known. The album was strongly received, peaking at #1 in the US and going Platinum, as well as reaching #6 in the UK and achieving Gold status. "Baker Street", "Right Down the Line" and "Home and Dry" were successfully released as singles. "Baker Street" is widely perceived as Rafferty's signature song and by October 2010 had reached 5 million plays on British radio. City to City, the title track had releases in Belgium (1977) and Holland (1978). The b-side featured an extended version of "Mattie's Rag". Rafferty was born into a working class family in Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland. His mother taught him both Irish and Scottish folk songs as a boy; later, he was influenced by the music of The Beatles and Bob Dylan. He joined the folk-pop band The Humblebums in 1969, but left in 1971 and recorded his first solo album Can I Have My Money Back. Rafferty and Joe Egan formed the group Stealers Wheel in 1972, producing several hits, most notably "Stuck in the Middle with You". Legal issues after the breakup of Stealers Wheel meant that, for three years, Rafferty was unable to release any material.
