I never got close enough to him to give you the true scale of him, because lobsters can jump pretty high off the ground, and with claws big enough to wrap around my arm, or break a bone in my hand, or cut a hose on my scuba gear, i wanted to keep my distance from him. I followed him for about fifteen (15) minutes on this dive, and he really taught me a thing or two about lobsters. As well, if you are ever diving and see a critter, follow it as long as you can, you can see some pretty amazing sights and learn a lot about your subject! This was filmed in between Percé and Gaspé in the Gulf of the St Lawrence. The area was my old stomping grounds as a child until I was a teenager when the area was made into a "Halte Municipal" or commonly known to those of us that speak English as a "Service Centre." And as a result the land owner at the property created a campground, and turned a rather secluded private beach from my childhood into a public high traffic beach. This was a result of the government as well as the private land owner, I'm not sore about it, everything changes, there's still plenty of private beaches but it is actually nice to have a beach within walking distance that is populated!
