Go up the stairs until you see a closed door. You cannot open it now as you need to get a strength upgrade. Kill the guard on the right and pick up the Impactor Batteries he drops. If the red light catches you, a second guard will show up, but he does not leave anything. Continue up the stairs, follow the hallway around to the left and open the door. First Gallery with lasers - You enter a galery which is protected by laser beams. If one of them catches you, they do not harm you, but they activate the alarm and both the entrance and exit doors close. They are sealed by metal gates, the laser beams turn off and a guard enters the gallery. In that case, kill the guard and press the button on the right hand side of the entrance (if it is to your back) to open the doors and activate the laser beams again. The guard appears only once. Do that if you are interested in all kills. The deal here is to reach the opposite side, avoiding the laser beams that lock the exit. Getting across - Climb on the first low glass case and turn left. Jump to grab the archaeological relic, pull up and get the Large Health Pack. Turn right and take a running jump over the lasers to land on the next case. Jump\ climb to the one on your right and turn left. To reach the next case, take a running jump when the moving lasers are at the lowest point. Roof of the Louvre - There is a dome on each side of the roof with a closed gate that opens from the other side. There are also two blue doors close to each dome and only the left ones open, once you get the strength upgrade. Getting the strength upgrade - There is an air conditioner on the right hand side (or to the left if you face the entrance - as shown here). Climb on it, vault onto the pipe and jump up to grab the ledge above. Pull up and continue to the right. Hang where the railing is, shimmy right to get past it and pull up. Do the same for the next railing (notice the guard through the window here). Jump up to grab the cable above and traverse across. Lara has just enough strength to make it, so do not stop at all. When you reach the other side, you gain the strength upgrade. Continue to the right and jump the gap. Climb down the pipe and dismount to the sill on the right. Lara gets the 'side-stepping' position, so press the right direction key to side-step. When you reach the open window, you get an inside view. If you are having trouble to stand in front of the window whilst side-stepping, climb down the pipe more until Lara's hand are on the same level with the windowsill. Grab the sill, shimmy to the right and pull up in front of the window. If you wait for a bit, you will see a guard coming to the window. Lara returns back to the Louvre, and she is ready to visit Werner's apartment. Eckhardt's men have reached the place. Deal with them and find a Respirator to survive from their gas bombs. Go up the stairs ahead and turn left. Enter the door on the right hand side and continue forward up to the next set of stairs. Shoot the guard and pick up the Vector-R35 Clip he drops. There is nothing interesting in the gallery, so keep going upstairs. The cut scene shows a guard patrolling in the gallery with Mona Lisa. Gunderson's men break into the Louvre and throw gas bombs through the ducts killing the guard. Gunderson orders his men to move out, as they have their targets. [Note (contains spoilers) - From this point, you need to be quick and find a Respirator because of the gas bombs Gunderson's men threw in the Louvre. Until you finish the level, you will encounter many guards. Avoid killing them in stealth mode as you do not have much time and make sure you shoot them with a powerful weapon (especially if this is your first time through the game). If you check the PC, the painting on the wall and the sketches next to the door, you will learn here more things about the Obscura Paintings. There were five images painted on thick wooden bases and they were created by Black Alchemist Peter Van Eckhard in the 13 or 1400's. Together the five paintings hide something called the Sanglyph or The Blood Sign. Lux Veritatis seized the Paintings from Eckhard and painted over with religious imagery. Each Painting has a metallic symbol of power built into it and that's why Eckhard wants the Paintings. Brother Obscura is the artist who painted over the original images. He was ordered to disguise the Paintings with religious imagery. The Paintings were hidden, but he made secret copies of them, sketches, and hid them too. These copies became known as Obscura Engravings. These Engravings contain encrypted maps of a Painting secret location. Once you get the Card, exit to the hallway and use it to the socket at the end. Open the exit door and head down the stairs. There are two doors on each side of the next room, but you can open only the right hand one. There is a guard in the gallery that the rightmost security monitor showed you before. You can shoot the guard or take him out stealthily. The guard patrols around the room and you cannot tell his exact point. The cut scene shows Lara sneaking in the gallery when Kurtis approaches her from behind and disarms her. After a brief love scene (well, sort of), Gunderson and his men burst into the gallery and start shooting Lara and Kurtis. They both try to escape. Kurtis uses a kind of a telekinetic power to open a door and they finally make it. Kurtis is ahead and when Lara finds him he is unconscious. When she approaches him, someone hits her from behind and she gets unconscious too. When Lara wakes, Kurtis is not there. Bouchard has already reached the place and when she asks him how he got there, he says he heard what happened from the police radio frequencies. Lara tells him that she needs to go to Von Croy's apartment and Bouchard offers to get her there. On their way, Bouchard tells Lara that another Monstrum killing has been done in Prague. When they reach Von Croy's apartment, Lara tells Bouchard that she wants to go in there alone.
