fyp - beat you with a plunger from the album "toilet kids bread", 1996. a fun, humorous, and vital punk rock band from Torrance, CA (a suburb of LA), FYP (aka Five Year Plan) was the brainchild of Todd Congelliere, who wrote most of the songs and was the only constant member throughout the band's constantly rotating cast. FYP released a couple of classics in Dance My Dunce and Toilet Kids Bread, though all their records are worthwhile. As far as impassioned, dysfunctional, militantly geek punk rock, Congelliere struck a chord with punks in the know. His buddy Hal Badal and he were also able to eke out a living from their tiny but esteemed punk rock label Recess Records, which is responsible for releases from exceptional punk bands like the Dwarves, the Criminals, and the Crumbs, as well as all of FYP's releases. A scraggly looking punker sporting Greyhound-bus-depot-style fashions, Congelliere has written his fair share of memorable, brilliant punk tunes. Before he was a punk, Congelliere was a pro skater and first got into punk rock via his skater pals. With a skating company endorsement, Congelliere made some dough and bought himself a four-track, a guitar, and Fisher Price drum machine from Toys R Us. Hence came FYP's first primitive recordings in the early '90s, which are most notable for their silly titles, My Nieghbors Is Stoopid, Finish Your Popcorn, and Guido, Where Are You? Ivan always find it annoying that his always grandfather calls him "Baobei" which means "Precious" which is called by Ivan's mother before her death. It was then passed on to his grandfather. Ivan all along couldn't forget how his grandfather indirectly caused Ivan's mother death. This is a part of my Masters thesis project in Interactive Media, Here people are testing it out. It is a stationary bike set up to work with Google Earth and Street view so you can pedal through anywhere in the world that has streetview set up online and you can look around using a Nintendo Wii Remote. This is just the begining for this project, there is lots more I want to add to it and far more applications I want it to work with like prerecorded videos and games, Thanks to Jason Holt from Google for allowing me permission to investigate the code and use Google Streetview.
