This video presents a brief narrated tour of Aisne-Marne American Cemetery's landscaped grounds, architecture, and works of art. The 42.5-acre Aisne-Marne Cemetery and Memorial in France, its headstones lying in a sweeping curve, sits at the foot of the hill where stands Belleau Wood. The cemetery contains the graves of 2289 war dead, most of whom fought in the vicinity and in the Marne valley in the summer of 1918. The memorial chapel sits on a hillside, decorated with sculptured and stained-glass details of wartime personnel, equipment and insignia. Inscribed on its interior wall are 1060 names of the missing. Rosettes mark the names of those since recovered and identified. During World War II, the chapel was damaged slightly by an enemy shell. Belleau Wood adjoins the cemetery and contains many vestiges of World War I. A monument at the flagpole commemorates the valor of the US Marines who captured much of this ground in 1918. The cemetery is open daily to the public from 9 am to 5 pm except December 25 and January 1. It is open on host country holidays. When the cemetery is open to the public, a staff member is on duty in the Visitor Building to answer questions and escort relatives to grave and memorial sites.. + Informações

The following is a message I had recieved a few months ago here on youtube from a Mr. Salomon. I was born in Rheine in 1935 and left with my family, arriving in New York on Sept. 2, 1939. My father was drafted at age 16 in 1914 and fought in WWI in the German Army as a heavy machine gunner, winning the Iron Cross, First Class in the battle of Riga, where he was gassed. He was then moved to the Western Front after Russia stopped fighting in 1917 and fought untilNovember 11, 1918. The effects of the gas finally killed him in 1951. There were 200000 Greman Jews who served in WWI and over 20000 were KIA.with many more thousnads wounded and gassed. I still have my father''s medals and his service documents. When I was in the Schnee Eifel three years ago, I visited the grave of Leutnant Freiderich Lengfeld of the 275th Inf. Reg. He died trying to save the life of a wounded American soldier of the 22nd Inf. Div. in the Huertgen Wilde Sau minefield on 12 November,1944. Most German soldiers did their duty with bravery and fought the war fairly, though many were nothing more than war criminals in their actions on the Eastern Front and the killing of innocents, including Jews. This song tells the tale of two grenadiers who have come back to Germany from Russia only to find out that their cheif has been captured. One of the grenadiers is more concerned for the livelihood of his wife and child while the other it distraught over the capturing of their chief. We loaded the replay, we watched, we awed, lots of action in this one, three heavies shows their shiny paintjobs, some of them get put into an early grave, some limps of the field, but all of them make a good dent in the opponents tanks/units. This 2v2 plays out on the map Vengeance, one that hasn't been shown in FF so far, quite the cool map and it plays out quite differently from time to time. Massive pushes from the riflemen hordes and .50 cals just shredding grens to pieces. The axis counters with their own horde of infantry and sneaky stormies executing units before they even have a chance to pull the trigger!
