Wear Sunscreen or the Sunscreen Speech are the common names of an essay actually called "Advice, like youth, probably just wasted on the young" written by Mary Schmich and published in the Chicago Tribune as a column in 1997. The most popular and well-known form of the essay is the successful music single released in 1999, credited to Baz Luhrmann. Mary Schmich's "Advice, like youth, probably just wasted on the young" was published in the Chicago Tribune as a column on June 1, 1997. In her introduction to the column, she described it as the commencement address she would give if she were asked to give one. The column soon became the subject of an urban legend, in which it was alleged to be an MIT commencement speech given by author Kurt Vonnegut in that same year (in truth, MIT's commencement speaker that year was Kofi Annan). Despite a follow-up article by Mary Schmich on August 3, 1997, in which she referred to the "lawless swamp of cyberspace" that had made her and Kurt Vonnegut "one", by 1999 the falsely attributed story was widespread. When the column was later turned into a song, Schmich's "wish" came true when the .... + Informações |

Justice: What's The Right Thing To Do? Episode 03: "FREE TO CHOOSE" 55.13 min. | 4.846953 avaliação | 689264 exibições ART ONE: FREE TO CHOOSE Sandel introduces the libertarian conception of individual rights, according to which only a minimal state is justified. Libertarians argue that government shouldnt have the power to enact laws that 1) protect people from themselves, such as seat belt laws, 2) impose some peoples moral values on society as a whole, or 3) redistribute income from the rich to the poor. Sandel explains the libertarian notion that redistributive taxation is akin to forced labor with references to Bill Gates and Michael Jordan. PART TWO: WHO OWNS ME? Libertarian philosopher Robert Nozick makes the case that taxing the wealthy?to pay for housing, health care, and education for the poor?is a form of coercion. Students first discuss the arguments behind redistributive taxation. Dont most poor people need the social services they receive in order to survive? If you live in a society that has a system of progressive taxation, arent you obligated to pay your taxes? Dont many rich people often acquire their wealth through sheer luck or family fortune? A group of students dubbed Team Libertarian volunteers to defend the libertarian philosophy against these objections.. + Informações |

I made this video compiled from clips of my adventures and activities over the past while (too bad I only really started doing video a year ago!). It's been 10 years since this song was released, I've never really gotten sick of it, and I guess wanted to share how I lived it out. I'm not trying to tell everyone to do everything possible, but rather inspire people to live more freely - and that you can start today by doing something simple, such as dancing in your living room! Definitely, the "DANCE" part in the song really inspired me. I really wanted to communicate that I really enjoy dancing and I believe in what I teach - that dancing is fun, freeing, and something we should all give a try. I want to make dancing easy and available to everyone and have people dancing together and having fun all social situations. Reflections And Warnings - An Interview With Aaron Russo {Full Film} 95.77 min. | 4.9234333 avaliação | 657295 exibições BUY THE DVD AT: infowars-shop.stores.yahoo.net In an historic final interview, filmmaker and music promoter Aaron Russo goes in depth on the insider-knowledge given to him by a member of the Rockefeller family. Russo was told-- prior to 9/11-- of plans to stage terror attacks, invade foreign nations, and kickstart a high-tech police state control grid that would track the populations' every move with implantable RFID microchips. This information-packed presentation is filled with never-before seen footage. Throughout the film, Alex Jones breaks down the latest activities of the New World Order and how it ties into what Russo predicted. Aaron explains how the elite created the women's liberation movement to break up the family and tax working women. Russo breaks down the deception of democracy-- which is nothing more than mob rule guaranteed to produce tyranny. Russo also exposes the IRS & Federal Reserve. He blasts the unconstitutional and predatory institutions that have crippled the American Republic and crushed the people with bogus taxes, inflation and loss of privacy. Russo explains that he himself was persecuted in the late 80s by a criminal 'retroactive' tax scheme that attempted to levy new taxes on years already passed. As night falls on the Republic, Aaron Russo delivers a powerful call for the forces of liberty to rise and crush tyranny. Only then can the Republic be restored. THIS DVD INCLUDES: - Never-before seen behind the scenes footage - An exclusive .... + Informações |

High Times Denver Medical Cannabis Cup 2012 9.48 min. | 4.9247313 avaliação | 26660 exibições I have always dreamed of going to Amsterdam for the Cannabis Cup, but now the Cannabis Cup has come to me instead. We went to Denver for the Cannabis Cup and we had a great time. We met some really cool people ran into old friends and got to smoke with some famous people too. Everyone was having a great time celebrating Medical Marijuana and the amazing industry that supports the patients that need cannabis to live their lives. I hope that you get a good sense of what it was like to be there. It wasn't as big as I thought, but there was still a lot of people. The music was really loud in the medical building so it was kind of hard to talk and meet more people. We were comfortable smoking anywhere and I was never paranoid or worried I was being watched. It was absolutely wonderful to have the freedom to smoke with this many people. I wish that everyone will soon have the same freedom. This was an amazing way to cap off our 4/20 vacation. Thanks to everyone we met that weekend, we had a great time. And thanks to Garrett for watching Lady for us. Lynyrd Skynyrd FreeBird [HQ] (LIVE) 1977 12.07 min. | 4.9768634 avaliação | 808332 exibições - July 4'th 1977, Oakland, great quality. "Free Bird" (also spelled "Freebird") is a song by the American southern rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd. It was first featured on the band's debut album (Pronounced 'L?h-'nérd 'Skin-'nérd) in 1973, and has been included on subsequent albums released by the band. Released as a single in November 1974, "Free Bird" became the band's second Top 40 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in early 1975, where it peaked at No. 19. A live version of the song also reached the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1977, peaking at No. 38. Free Bird also achieved the No. 3 spot on Guitar World's 100 Greatest Guitar Solos. It is used as a finale by Lynyrd Skynyrd during their live performances, and is their longest song, often going well over 14 minutes when played live. The lyrical portion of the song was written early in the group's history. Roadie Billy Powell was discovered as a keyboardist for the band when he played the intro piece to "Free Bird" at a high school prom. Lead vocalist Ronnie Van Zant noted his talent and invited him to join. Allen Collins's then-girlfriend, Kathy, whom he later married, asked him, "If I leave here tomorrow would you still remember me?" Collins jotted the question down and it eventually became the opening line of "Free Bird". Gary Rossington played a Gibson SG and used a glass Coricidin bottle for a slide on this song to emulate one of his heroes, Duane Allman. This was the only song he used a guitar other than a Les Paul on .... + Informações |

Jon Anderson-Close To The Edge(Live 2009) 16.18 min. | 4.9650655 avaliação | 33641 exibições Jon Anderson (Yes): Tribute to Freedom, Live in Bratislava, Slovakia, Castle Devin, August 15th 2009 This is the last date of the last summer's "Have Guitar Will Travel" European mini-tour that Jon Anderson gave after he recovered from his serious illness and after his bandmates from Yes started touring without him. This gig was very special because rather than a one man show, this was a full scale performance with an ensemble of brilliant Slovak musicians. The venue was spectacular, too - the concert took place in the courtyard of the castle Devin, a beautiful historical castle just outside Bratislava with a great historical significance for the Slovak people. The performance was very moving, baeutiful and many people in the audience were literally in tears, including myself. Unfortunately, the TV station that filmed it decided to air only a small portion of the songs that were performed and most of the material will remain only in our memories. Even so, the selection of songs is still very good - there's one new Jon song, one originally by Jon & Vangelis and, most surprisingly, a Yes song, Close to the Edge almost in its entirety in a very original, but still very powerful arrangement. The performance showcases that Jon has pretty much fully recovered now and is ready to please his fans, if outside Yes for the time being, and it also displays the skills of these great musicians from Slovakia. Lineup: Jon Anderson: vocals, acoustic guitar, chinese strummer Peter .... + Informações |
