An interesting track by Japanese doujin electronica producer Void featuring someone called Kotsukimiya on the vocal. Genre would be somewhere in the spectrum of Drum n' Bass. Yeah yeah, I know I'm supposed to hate all things vocal like a good sheep, but I really think theres's something special about this tune. The bleeps and frantic breaks combined a somber-sounding vocal create a cold and gloomy atmosphere that I find to be almost sublime. It's pretty far removed from the trance that we know and love Void for, but I think this track is special in it's own right. The image is a painting by Caspar David Friedrich called "Klosterfriedhof im Schnee (Cloister Cemetery in the Snow)". Crazy what you can find on Danbooru. I am using the echoplex edp to capture very very small grains of sound to build into evolving bed of sound. to be honest, it isnt used very much in this second pert...i decided to play it safe without the practice available to me to become competent with it on that night...I still really enjoyed the set though, as you can see by my frantic bobbing. more videos to come that investigate this more. ........................................ It was another Adelphi wiith very few people in the audience and I had already played a short acoustic set for a change, it was my intention with this piece to try to pace myself after the rather frantic "Killington Falls" support slot the night before. I am still trying to learn moderation of my sound set... too many layers and I get out of control.
