I have created this video to encompany an emotional and beautiful song of my fave Dutch gothic metalband After Forever, featuring the outstanding soprano of their singer Floor Jansen. This song deals with the topic of the intifada and the conflict in the Middle East, however it does not side with any party, but is meant to make you think about who is the one suffering in the end. It features an excerpt of a speech by Yitzhak Rabin, winner of the Noble Prize for Peace who was muderdered in 1995. I hope this will strike a chord with you as it does with me, every time I play it.The lyrics were written by Mark Jansen, the song can be found on the After Forever album "Decipher" (2001). Set in ancient times in the islands of Hawai?i, a forlorn woman living in isolation with her husband meets a child from a nearby village and contemplates whether she should bring her into her mystical world.
