Part 2 of my AllTimeFavouriteDescentLevels series. This is level 16 of the Vertigo Series (Fold Zandura), and it's my second favourite level of Vertigo. I like it because it goes beyond spooky; it feels apocalyptic, like a world on fire - amazing work for its time. Due to some bugs with demos in this level walls and grates that should disappear at points in the level don't, so if you see me or a robot fly through a wall the wall is probably not supposed to be there.. + Informações

Part 3 of my AllTimeFavouriteDescentLevels series. Toro Station is level 1 of the Konflict at Karon levelset by Kruel. He had a real eye for detail in his level designs and it shows especially in this level - the geometry looks at least as complex as Descent 3 in places, and combined with the D2X-XL graphics enhancements and hires textures you can see it was far, far ahead of its time. Out of all of Konflict at Karon I liked this level the most because of the ice theme, and also the way it played more like a Descent 3 level than a Descent 2 level - with a different objective for the end (get to the transporter), and a sort of in-level story (with the flood gate). Kruel did a terrific job of helping the player along with signs and in-level markers as the player continues toward their final objective. Like the Fold Zandura video there are a few graphical bugs with walls that should have disappeared not disappearing and one sign for some reason renders as 'freespace operations' when it should say 'flood gate' (I think that's a problem with the level's pog file because the sign was wrong during the actual playthrough of the level as well as the demo playback). On the whole it's not as bad or as noticable as the Fold Zandura video though. The music for this level in the original mission was the Descent 2 level 3 midi, and I kept that song in the video, however this version was recorded on an emulator soundfont of the Yamaha XG standard. Next up will probably be Descent 2 .... + Informações
