When industrial wind turbines which are 40 stories tall are sited too close to people's home there is trouble with noise and shadow flicker. Wind developers deny these problems exist and in the state of Wisconsin want to put them 1000 feet from houses. That's 350 steps. This video shows what happens when wind turbines are irresponsibly sited. The nation is slowly waking up to the downside of wind energy. Developers lie to residents about the impacts these machines will have on the landowners and neighbor's lives. They take advantage of those of us who want to do the right thing for our environment by telling us there will be no problem with noise, no problem with shadows, and no problem with putting turbines in bird migration flyways. The Crab Nebula, created by a supernova seen nearly a thousand years ago, is one of the sky's most famous "star wrecks." For decades, most astronomers have regarded it as the steadiest beacon at X-ray energies, but data from orbiting observatories show unexpected variations, showing astronomers their hard X-ray "standard candle" isn't as steady as they once thought. From 1999 to 2008, the Crab brightened and faded by as much as 3.5 percent a year, and since 2008, it has faded by 7 percent. The Gamma-ray Burst Monitor on NASA's Fermi satellite first detected the decline, and Fermi's Large Area Telescope also spotted two gamma-ray flares at even higher energies. Scientists think the X-rays reveal processes deep within the nebula, in a region powered by a rapidly spinning neutron star -- the core of the star that blew up. But figuring out exactly where the Crab's X-rays are changing over the long term will require a new generation of X-ray telescopes. (Watch in HD...yes.) Gah! I started on this yesterday...yeah..yesterday haha! I'm still trying to grasp the idea that I managed to make a 5 minute video in a day. This is supposed to be an overview of Chuck and Sarah's relationship...from the very first episode to the very end (aka I used at least one scene from EVERY episode and 1:38 to the end is all in chronological order so I tried to pick important scenes...mhm). The first minute and a half shows the parallels between 5x13 and past episodes. That being said, major spoilers for 5X12/5x13 if you haven't already seen it. I was originally going to start on this after seeing the episode...but I couldn't see past all the tears lol! I swear it took me a couple tries to actually open this project. le.sigh. Some users are experiencing very distracting mountain flicker / Z-fighting in Skyrim. This video is meant to show what this looks like. There is no known fix to the mountain flicker / Z-fighting, but certain things can help reduce the flicker: - Setting "Distant Object Detail" to Medium or Low. However, once you get closer to the mountains, the flicker will start anyway. It also makes all mountains look like triangles and really ugly. - Setting "fSkyCellRefFadeDistance=300000.0000" in SkyrimPrefs.ini. This makes more clouds be visible far away, which thus is covering up a little of the flicker. - Under [Display] section in Skyrim.ini, add "fNearDistance=X value" (read below to decide which number you want to put in the place of X value). Default value is 15.0000. Value 90.0000 completely remove all kinds of flicker, but it causes other issues as well. It mainly causes all objects to turn invisible when you're close to them, thus only showing emptiness instead. "fNearDistance=25.0000" helps a little of the flicker, but in turn has no major negative visible side-effects as higher numbers have; you'd have to be extremely close to an object and look straight into it to see it become invisible with 25.0000 (in other words, objects clip). I therefore recommend having "fNearDistance=25.0000". You can try higher values (for instance 35.0000) if you want to to reduce flicker even further, but beware of the increased side-effects as mentioned above. 0:20 is roughly where it begins....Razer Black Widow Ultimate Blue LED flickering/shutting off. My Black Widow at the time of posting is only 6 hours new. After ~4 hours, I noticed the LED on my scroll lock key turned off. I had to cycle the lights for it to return but when it did, it was much dimmer than before and compared to other keys. The problem seems to occur when I leave the keyboard with the back lighting on for long periods of time or when I leave the backlighting on low/medium and turning it on to the highest setting (not the pulsating setting). The scroll lock key then begins to flicker and it could either have reduced brightness or flicker off completely. The only way to restore some function is to constantly cycle through the backlighting modes until it regains its brightness. I'm disappointed as I'd expect better QC for a relatively pricey keyboard.. + Informações
