A quick demo of the Ibanez FL-9 Flanger reissue guitar effects pedal. A Flanger gets its signature sound by combining the original signal with a modulated, or delayed copy. Doing this creates distinct "whooshing" sounds as the waveforms interact with one another, where the "comb filter" effect starts to become apparent. For guitar, a flanger can be used to provide a bit of dimension, or to articulate harmonics. This is especially true when distortion is involved. This particular pedal has a very sweet and full sound to it, which is very unlike the Boss pedals that I've used before. I'm considering kicking the chorus pedal off of my board for this guy. Little. This is the second clip I did for the Hartman Analog Flanger. See the first vid here: - www.youtube.com - In the first part I used the Flanger with a Keeley C4 Compressor and the DMM + a little reverb of the G-System. - In the 2nd part I use the Keeley C4 Compressor with a little G-System reverb and I dial the Color knob 25% at a time to increase the color so you can hear the difference. I, personally, like to keep it low. - The 3rd bit is done with the Keeley C4 Compressor and the DMM, I used a little more Color here and turned the Depth up as well. - The 4rth and last part is used with the Keeley C4 Compressor and a little slapback delay from the Damage Control Time. Regarding the Flanger, I used a little more Color and the Rate was up to 75% and the Depth at around 30% - just to showcase it can do a faux Leslie-type sound as well. - I should've showcased that it can do those yet-type flange sounds, but, personally, I never use flangers like that, so - I blatantly forgot. - - -Gear used for recording: - Shure SM57 - PreSonus FirePod - Ableton Live 6.01 Plugins: - Ableton Live Reverb (custom made modulated reverb) - Ableton Live Compressor (used for limiting, etc.) - PSP Vintage Warmer - PSP Master Compressor - - - Guitar: - Fender '93 ltd. This is an old (1986) russian flanger device. Noisy as hell, but the best flanger I've played through so far. Most flangers sound either too metalic or sound like they add something on top of the signal rather than processing it. This one is very musical & more subtle in nature. Warm & shimmery. I was asked by one of my watchers for any advice on my flanger settings on my GT5. To be honest i never use flangers or phasers. they sound a bit naff if overused. i have used a flanger for a few tracks i recorded but i set them up to suit my taste. I dont like an in your face guitar tone so i set my flanger pretty low so it doesn't ruin the guitar tone. The Micro Flanger is where its at if you are just looking for some flange tone to be able to excite your tone either clean, dirty or really high gain. I like to use pedals all up front and most flangers you just can't do that with. The Micro flanger sounds just as good up front as it does in the effects loop. Different tonal qualities to be sure, but TBH I like it up front more. Still very warm and I can achieve most of the flange tones I'm looking for.. + Informações
