Senior Constable David Rixon, a 40-year-old highway patrol officer, was shot in the stomach and abdomen during an incident in West Tamworth, about 8am. Paramedics rushed Mr Rixon to Tamworth Base Hospital, but he died a short time later. Constable Rixon's family today thanked the public for their support during this difficult time. "David was a wonderful father, husband and police officer," a statement says. "He was all of that but so much more -- he was a real person and a great man who will be missed by us all." "We will never forget him." Senior Constable Rixon is survived by his wife Fiona and six children. The Highway Patrol officer joined the NSW Police Force in 1990 and has spent time serving in Tamworth, Gunnedah, Waratah, Belmont and Hamilton. Another man, who is believed to have fired the shots at the officer, was also taken to hospital. He remains in a stable condition under police guard. The shooting happened outside an apartment block on Lorraine St. It is understood the highway patrol officer pulled over a car in the street, and an altercation arose, which lead to a shoot-out. The homicide squad is leading the investigating the incident. Colleagues at Tamworth police station are being comforted and offering counselling, in the wake of the tragedy. A relative of the killed officer told The Telegraph Mr Rixon was an officer with many years of experience. "How do you get your head around this...we are all numb," the relative said. Police Commissioner Andrew .... + Informações

In 1983, the BBC made a cartoon series which included a catchy theme tune and featured the voices of The Goodies. It was produced by Flicks Films for Chatsworth TV and in association with Tellytales Enterprises. Parts of the character were changed for the series: he was now called Eric Twinge, voiced by Simon Tweed and had a distinctive banana-shaped hairstyle rather than punk stubble, and had a love interest (only when transformed) in the form of Fiona, a newsreader based on Selina Scott. Graeme Garden voiced the characters of Bananaman, General Blight and Maurice of The Heavy Mob, Bill Oddie voiced the characters of Crow, Chief O'Reilly, Doctor Gloom and the Weatherman, and Tim Brooke-Taylor voiced the characters of Eric, King Zorg of the Nurks, Eddie the Gent, Auntie and Appleman, as well as narrating the episodes. Jill Shilling voiced Fiona and any additional female characters, including Eric's cousin Samantha (but not Auntie). It lasted for forty episodes between 3 October 1983 and 15 April 1986. Bananaman was aired in the United States by the Nickelodeon cable network as a companion piece to Dangermouse, but Bananaman never came close to reaching that series' American popularity. The show also aired during the Australian Broadcasting Corporation's (ABC) after school timeslot and is considered one of the Classic ABC shows. Some of these episodes would eventually re-appear in print form in The Dandy in 1998, coinciding with the BBC repeating the series that year, and .... + Informações

To buy Lynzies Covers on Itunes go to www.itunes.com To hear more from Lynzie Kent go to: www.lynziekent.com http www.twitter.com www.facebook.com www.facebook.com Born and raised in Guelph, Ontario, Lynzie spent her childhood surrounded by music. Her father managed and was the lead guitarist of the successful band Double Exposure while her mother was the lead singer. At a young age, she began performing with the band at some of Muskokas most prestigious resorts, corporate events, and Ontarios most popular casinos. Inspired by her fathers songwriting, Lynzie began writing her own music at the age of 18 and at 22, released her first original album entitled Find the Words. Her writing style is inspired by artists such as Heart, Sheryl Crow, Alanis Morrisette, and Jann Arden. The lyrics and stories of her songs are personal and honest depicting situations that many young women encounter. Most songs are written collaboratively with her father?a great advantage to the young singer as he is a seasoned singer/songwriter. Lynzies relationship with him is best described in her song Daddy, a heart felt tribute to his dedication to music and family. From break-ups, to first loves, to the need for change, Find the Words is an album diverse in lyrics and style. Lynzie is the former lead singer of Juno-nominated (Best R&B/Soul Recording of the Year) Toronto nu-funk band God Made Me Funky. Snagging this gig in early 2007 brought non-stop North America wide touring. In 2007, God Made Me .... + Informações
