Kittens are born blind and totally defenseless. The mother sleeps very little in order to be able to look after these tiny babies weighing just around 100 gr. She constantly tries keep them warm and make sure they stay near her stomach so they can feed at any moment. Although their eyes are closed for the first week they have no difficulty in finding where to drink milk. Their mothers milk has all the right properties for them to grow. After some 8 weeks, kittens become able to fend for themselves. But until that time the mothers takes the most careful interest in them. The way these creatures, devoid of any reason or consciousness, take such care of their young leads everyone to think of the Lord of reason and conscience. Just wanted to introduce you all to my Kitty menagerie lol, I will introduce you all to my other pets at a later date. Now if you can't understand my voice on the video, the black and white kitty is named Jasper, the orange and white kitty is named Toonces, the orange kitty is named Nala, and the Black kitty is named Digger. I would like to add that Jasper was an abandoned kitty. I lived in a trailer park in Steamboat springs colorado and someone had just dropped him off. Well he was always getting in fights either under my trailer or outside my bedroom window, and I couldn't understand why he kept losing. The poor guy was starving, you could count his vertabrae and his ribs and he was just torn up from fights. So I was finally able to make friends with him and after a couple months of feeding him, keeping the other cats away while he ate, I was able to get him into my lap. Well that's when I found out he had been declawed, who in their right mind would leave a declawed cat outside to fend for itself, where not only can it not catch its own food or stand up for itself among the other cats, but we were overrun with fox and coyotes. well, I made my decision and told my husband no ifs ands or buts, he was coming inside. That made number four to our already full household because the trailer was teensy. But we made do and now look at him, isn't he beautiful? and he is so loving and playful. I just hope his old owners have serious karma issues right now because of what they .... + Informações

One of my recent rescues has gotten to me.. The pictures are of Foster. A happy loving DECLAWED tuxedo that was severely neglected and left to fend for himself. Luckily he went to the right people for help and Foster is safely indoors as an office kitty at my fathers work. The collar and ID tag were placed on him to prevent animal control picking him up until he could be placed. I am sick and tired of people leaving their pets to fend for themselves! They think its better they live outside where there is danger around every corner then simply keeping the pet for life or last resort bring to a rescue or shelter. Especially peoples regards with cats. Their not completely independent animals people. Look at what this poor cat went through: Starvation, fleas, and poorly infected skin and coat. Wake UP! Their domestic cats NOT wild animals. House cats means they live in houses NOT in trash bins.. Dexter was in a litter of five kittens that were abandoned at a Brooklyn animal shelter. Dexter was then taken in by a lonely woman who lived in a small city apartment. The apartment was broken into one night during a robbery. Dexter attacked the intruder, waking the woman up. She was then murdered by the intruder. When the police came to investigate the murder, Dexter was kicked away from the apartment by the policemen and left to fend for himself in a nearby alley. Dexter was later picked up and put in a sack by two men, who intended to throw him over the edge of a bridge to drown when a red power ring found him in mid fall. "Dex-Starr of Earth. I received a call for help after the Orkin Man discovered this newborn litter of kittens on someones patio. They were secluded in the corner, behind a wall on a large, condominium complex in Encino, California. I was able to catch the young mama after placing her kittens in a box and positioning it in the back of a large trap. A second, smaller trap was also set nearby just to increase the odds. After four hours she was finally hungry enough and gave in to her tentative curiosity. Please don't turn a blind eye if you discover a homeless cat or dog... especially if they haven't been spayed or neutered. The cycle of reproduction can get out-of-hand and these innocent animals suffer terribly. Without proper veterinary care they are susceptible to a myriad of diseases. Strays are often hit by cars, taken by coyotes or other predatory animals, or targeted by cruel humans. Left to fend for themselves, they don't receive adequate nutrition from the food they're able to scavenge. If trapped & taken to shelters, they usually don't leave alive. Most shelters are overcrowded, understaffed, & there are just too many animals without enough homes. If you're interested in becoming a foster parent there are numerous rescue organizations across the Country. You can help save lives by providing pets a safe place to live until adopted. This is a video of my dog and cat. They are both 3 legged. Well, I guess the cat is 3.5 legged. They are best friends. I love this video because at the end, Kane (the cat) puts his face in what he doesn't expect. The pooch, "He Low" (aka Bro) lived at the West LA shelter for over 5 months and no one would adopt him because he had a gimpy leg (which had to be amputated because of nerve damage). I went there as a favor for a friend to inquire about another dog, and ya, you know the story, I came home with a dog myself. Kane was part of a feral cat colony and his mom had her kittens in my friends backyard in Long Beach. The cat family moved, but left Kane in the yard to fend for himself. My friends little sisters found him and took him in. He was about 5 weeks old and the leg was already half gone and healed, so we don't know exactly how it happened. His hip on that leg is also dislocated, so probably some kind of trauma or something pulled it or he got is stuck somewhere. They both do well, the only difficulty they have is that Kane cannot clean out his right ear because the "stub" doesn't quite reach. He Low takes care of it for him though.
