The fantastic track "Portrait Of A Romantic" is taken from John Surman's great album "Private City" (1988), a ballet choreographed by Susan Crow and premiered by Sadler's Wells Royal Ballet in 1987. The album is recorded by ECM Records in excellent audio quality. Listen and enjoy it. "John Surman was one of the very few saxmen in England to find a significant audience in rock during the late '60s, playing gigs regularly at venues like the Marquee Club in London. Also a clarinetist of some renown, and no slouch on keyboards either, the atmospheric sounds that Surman creates on his horns has been a major asset to the ECM label ever since the late '70s; but, before that, he was an extremely prolific artist on Deram, Futura, Dawn, and Island, cutting seven solo albums between 1968 and 1974 on those mainstream pop-oriented labels, as well as recording with Morning Glory on Island. One of England's top jazz players of the past several decades, Surman is particularly strong on the baritone. Surman played in jazz workshops while still in high school. "Sister Jack" is a single from indie rock band Spoon. It was released in 2005, and is found on their album Gimme Fiction. A piano demo of the title track can be found on the bonus disc included with limited editions of Gimme Fiction. "Sister Jack" was also featured on the Wedding Crashers soundtrack. From "Sister Jack", the lyrics "I was in this drop-D metal band we called Requiem" refers to Joshua Zarbo's first band, Requiem. Here are Elton and Bernie talking about their new album "The Captain and the Kid" which is the sequel to the 1975 masterpeice "Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy". This album has some truely fantastic tracks ("Tinderbox" and "And The House Fell Down" especially) and I strongly recommend it. If you are an Elton fan anyway then it is very nostalgic as there are faint echoes of old tracks hidden in the new songs. If you are new to Elton then listen anyway as he sings of the ups and downs of his career and personal life from the very beginning to present day. It is a great insight into the living legend that is Elton John. PS Don't forget to check out the other six parts!!. + Informações

It is not particularly difficult to play, and I used the official piano score to the movie by John Williams. I altered certain parts to suit my own tastes and for pianistic merit. The Faces line up: Rod Stewart (Vocals) Ronnie Wood (Lead Guitar) Ronnie Lane (Bass Guitar) Kenney Jones (Drums) Ian Mclagan (Organ) John Peel (Mandolin) (was Ray Jackson on the record) Rod explained some years later that he and the band had been drinking all day and were playing football in the BBC corridors with Slade! After trying to get into the Pans People changing room they messed around a bit more with the football and Rod said to John Peel 'do the performance with us and bring the footie!' So... there were only three riders left in this ROLEX FEI World Cup Qualifying round and nobody had gone clear AND under the allowed time of 69 seconds. Four riders had managed to jump clear rounds but had time penalties. John Whitaker's round was superb - not only clear but also (just) within the time allowed and it was no wonder that he punched the air at the end. He must have thought that he had taken the victory - surely the last two riders were not going to be up to the task... Well, Edwina Alexander came out immediately after him and turned in an equally fantastic round - clear and under 69 seconds and so therefore a jump-off. The video tells the story so I'll say no more but it was a fantastic end to a really interesting and exciting competition and I'm so glad that I was there to see it. And what a lovely smile and wave at the end from a well deserving winner Edwina Alexander! I'd like to dedicate this video to my good friend Gabe (SonnyLees)... Go Oz go!!!! Us Poms thought you should get to beat us as a consolation after your disastrous showing at the Olympics! XD. + Informações
