At least 90% of children are improperly restrained in their car seats. Car accidents are the #1 killer of children in the US ages 1-14, and the #2 killer of infants in the US under age 1. Most of the videos I have seen have been of children improperly restrained. So here are a few tips on how to secure your child in their seats, giving them the absolute best chance at surviving an accident. "2 and 30" and is the new "1 and 20". The longer you can keep your child rear-facing, the safer they are. In an accident at 30mph, 130lbs of pressure is put on a forward facing child's spinal cord. If it stretches a mere 1/4 inch, you are looking at internal decapitation. There have been no reported cases of a child breaking their legs because of extended RF. But even if that was a real possibility, would you rather your child have a broken leg, or a broken neck? Harness straps need to be snug against the child. No loose slack. They should not be able to get their arms out of the straps. For a RF child, the straps need to be at or below shoulder level. For FF, they need to be at or above. The chest clip retainer (its black, in this video) is designed to keep the shoulder straps in place in the event of a crash. In order to do that, it needs to be at armpit level. For most car seats, you child has outgrown it by height RF when there is less than inch of hardshell above their heads. Check your manual. Expired seats are deadly seats. Simple upgrade of the mid 2009 24" iMac going from 4 GB of DDR3 1066 Mhz ram to 8 GB of DDR3 1066 Mhz ram. This iMac has the 2.93 Ghz intel core 2 duo CPU and the NCIDIA GeForce GT 120 GPU with 256 MB of Vram. I think Apple intended on people changing the ram with the iMac face down for some reason; which is why the directions are facing the other way. Personally I wouldn't lay an iMac face down even if it was on a soft surface for fear of scratching the plastic screen. Today we are going to do our install on a 2005 Dodge Durango with the tow package from the factory, and we are going to install Part Number 90185, the Tekonsha Prodigy brake controller. And we are also going to install the accompanying brake control harness for the Dodge tow package, and that is Part Number 3020P. To begin our install, we will start with the bracketry to hold our brake controller. And that is actually pretty easy. There is already an existing screw underneath the dash, and we are going to use that. We use a torx bit and we are going to go ahead and take that down. Then we run our bracket right back through it, and we are going to overlap so it will sandwich the plastic back up there like it was originally. Since the bracket is in place now, we can move it back and forth as we need it. Line it up straight and hold the brake controller against it to make sure it is facing the right way. Then we go ahead and temporarily mount our brake controller. This way you can move it left or right to make sure it is facing directly forward. Then once you have it set the way you want it, go ahead and take down the brake controller and then install the other screw. We are not using the screws that came with the brake controller this time. Every so often, internet news aggregator sites run a story about a research group that put an LED into a contact lens, then inserted it into a rabbit's eye. I figured that I would try the same thing, but put the lens into my own eye. I accomplished this by laminating a coil of wire and an 0402 surface-mount LED between two ordinary soft contact lenses. I was hoping the lenses would stick to each other, but they did not, so I ended up fixing the edges together by pinching the plastic together with hot tweezers. This held well enough to capture a minute of video with the LED illuminated in my eye. For video purposes, I mounted the LED facing outward. An actual VR/AR display would have the LED facing inward. I powered the LED by using a very primitive spark-gap transmitter built from a mechanical relay to send RF energy into a larger coil held near my eye. We are going to install this on a 2005 Ford Escape. This particular vehicle has a tow package. Not all vehicles come with a tow package but this one does so we will show you what to look for if yours does. To find the Tow Package port it is on this bracket facing the inside of the bumper. It is a pain to see so you have to kinda feel around for it while looking for it. You pull it loose then remove this little cap here. Then our part comes with a little bit of dielectric grease. Go ahead and squirt some of that on the plug. It will not take much just put a little bit on. Then you can press it back together. Then the rest of this will go out to your hitch. At that point take your excess wire and zip tie it to whatever you can behind the bumper. Leave what you need out for your trailer hitch. I like to leave it right by the chain here and zip tie it behind this bracket here. That way if you ever need excess it will be easy to get too. Since we are running it behind the plastic we are going to undo these torque fittings. Then tuck it behind the plastic there. Now at this point we can go ahead and put the tail light back together. Next we can go along and remove all the fittings along the back plastic. You can also take off this trim a little bit and make it just a little looser .... + Informações
