The whole operation was put into motion that morning when Jason and I realized that the boys were gonna be in town that night. We quickly tried every method of communication possible to get them to hang out for a while before their show at Tasty World. Fortunately, the guys were awesome and more than willing. Thus was born the progressive rock super-group Explorers Club, which consisted of the Gardner brothers along with such notable guest musicians as Billy Sheehan (UFO), John Petrucci (Dream Theater), DC Cooper, Derek Sherinian (Dream Theater, Planet X), Steve Howe (Yes), James LaBrie (Dream Theater), and Terry Bozzio (Frank Zappa, UK, Missing Persons). After rehearsing and recording for a few months, they finally put everything together and released their first of two albums, 'Age Of Impact.'
