Après 3H30 d'un show et d'un suspens insoutenable, c'est finalement la Suède qui a remporté cette année le concours de l'Eurovision grâce à sa représentante: la chanteuse Loreen venue défendre sa chanson Euphoria. Un titre qui aura fait l'unanimité auprès des 42 pays appelés à voter lors de cette soirée qui aura vu également défiler, une fois n'est pas coutume, des candidats aussi farfelus qu'improbables. Un casting de rêve qui aura donné du grain à moudre à Mireille Dumas et Cyril Féraud, qui tous deux avaient été dépêchés par France3 pour venir commenter cette soirée mémorable. Représentante cette année de la France, Anggun n'aura, quoi qu'on en pense, pas démérité à la tâche - la chanteuse vêtue d'une robe Jean Paul Gaultier étant venue quant à elle interpréter son titre Echo (You and I). Une chanson composée par Jean-Pierre Pilot et William Rousseau et remixée par Veronica Ferraro (connue pour avoir collaboré entre autre avec David Guetta). Malgré tous ses efforts, l'artiste n'aura cependant pas la chance de voir son titre remporter un franc succès auprès des votants, la chanteuse se classant finalement à la 22ème place... sur 26! Outre les prestations de la belle Anggun et de la gagnante Loreen, l'Eurovision, comme à l'accoutumée, nous aura encore gratifié cette année d'un casting mémorable qui sentait bon l'outrance, le kitsch et le surréalisme.
