Time is Just the Same 2.83 min. | 4.5555553 avaliação | 3430 exibições Isobel Campbell and Eugene Kelly sing Time is Just the Same. Eugene Kelly rose to prominence as a member of the Vasolines in the early 90s when Kurt Cobain, of Nirvana, recorded their songs: "Molly's Lips" and "Son of a Gun" and they later appeared on the Gold selling "Incesticide" album. The Vasolines got even more attention when Nirvana performed their song, "Jesus Don't Want Me For a Sunbeam" on their infamous "Unplugged in New York Concert". Isobel Campbell first garnered attention in the Twee group "Belle and Sebastain". She first ventured on her own in the group called "The Gentle Waves". Her first solo album, titled "Amorino" was met with critical acclaim. I caught the ear of grunge icon Mark Lanegan and the two recorded "Ballad of the Broken Seas" which was a finalist for the Mercurty Prize in 2006. Mark Lanegan was the lead singer for The Screaming Trees, and has made numerous solo albums and has been featured on albums by: Queens of the Stone Age, the Twilight Singers, and Soulsavers. Mark Lanegan recorded with Isobel Campbell, who recorded with Eugene Kelly, who had his songs recorded by Kurt Cobain, who recorded with mark Lanegan. The Circle of Grunge Rock is complete.. + Informações |

Eugene Kelly pt1 - Loughgall Martyrs 20th Anniversary 4.62 min. | 3.8888888 avaliação | 5444 exibições Óglach Eugene Kelly 5th July 1961 - 8th May 1987 In accordance with his family's wish, Volunteer Eugene Kelly, 25, was laid to rest in a private ceremony in Altmore Cemetery, Cappagh. In the 5 years that he had been a member of the IRA he had distinguished himself by his unqualified commitment to the struggle. His decision to join the Army was taken after long and serious consideration, but once made he was dedicated and no task was too small. Eugene knew the geography of Tyrone and Armagh like the back of his hand. He knew the shortcuts through the country roads like no one else and, on more than one occasion, is remembered for having spirited comrades and weapons past check points. Reliable and courageous he was a well-respected volunteer. Eugene came from a family of four sisters and two brothers. He was extremely conscious of his own security and feared most for the effect his involvement might have on his family, whom he loved deeply. Like other young republicans from the areas the RUC and British army frequently harassed him, and he spent several 7 day spells in Gough Barracks in Armagh. He died at Loughgall on the night of Friday May 8th 1987. He, like his comrades, is sorely missed. Eugene is remembered with love and pride by all who knew him. Eugene Kelly - Lady 3.58 min.
