9/32: Flamborough Head to Sunderland - the great adventure hits a big problem... 5.47 min. | 5.0 avaliação | 771 exibições www.boat-zone.com Our adventurers John and Fionn reach the Yorkshire coast and see (and smell!) the amazingly prolific bird life on the cliffs of Flamborough Head. They visit wonderful Whitby with time to explore and enjoy the town as tourists whilst watching the swing bridge open to release sailing boats to the open sea. Staithes, home port of Captain James Cooke, proves an exceptionally pretty fishing village... before signs of heavy industry appear along the coast -- and offshore. And as the boys head further north, near calamity - Shark Bay hits a submerged log... Sponsored by leading boat insurance specialists Haven Knox-Johnston (www.boatinsure.co.uk), The Great Motorboat Tour is the weekly video diaries of two men in a boat and their attempt to circumnavigate the British Isles. Film-maker John Boyle and cameraman Fionn Crow Howieson set off from Falmouth in their Sealine S34, called Shark Bay, keeping a regular video diary which provides compelling viewing of their great adventure as well as unique views and insight into our wonderful coastline. Their route takes them eastwards along the south coast, around southeast England, across the Thames estuary and then along the full length of the east coast to Scotland and beyond, past Cape Wrath taking in the wildest and most remote shores of our islands. Shark Bay then turns south following Scotland's beautiful west coast before heading westwards to reach Northern Ireland. Their adventure takes them right around Ireland .... + Informações |

Man relocating eggs of Olive ridley turtle in orissa 0.43 min. | 0 avaliação | 123 exibições Man digging a hole to place turtles into a safe and secure beach environment, for them to hatch, as part of a conservation programme. By exposing their eggs to dangerous or crowded beaches, the turtles often lead to failed breeding, and their young ones get killed by predators or human beings before they can safely reach the sea. By extracting the eggs and then placing them in safe zones, the eggs have a higher chance of turning into live turtles that actually survive into adulthood. Hands across the Sand Olympia Part 1 9.87 min. | 0 avaliação | 146 exibições This short film "Hands Across The Sand: Olympia Part one" filmed at Percival Landing in Olympia, Washington on Saturday, June 26, 2010 demonstrates just how when a thought or image becomes words and how those words can become powerful as residents of Olympia come together as a single strand of a much more globally colossal web named "Hands Across The Sand" to draw a line in the sand "against offshore oil drilling along America's beaches and in solidarity events across America and around the world, and the message is clear. "The message is powerful, the message is simple, 'No to offshore oil drilling, Yes to clean energy." In that all living things are connected in one form or another it is in that I have allowed my rage to become sadness turned inward with the realization that we are now at the precipice of what could possibly be our hemisphere's worst ecological disaster and an extinction level event for many of the oceans species. "We have now passed the point where we are destroying more species faster than we can discover them." (1) As British Petroleum (BP) continues their policy of fraudulent and misleading information to the government and the American public I find it intolerable that any company either foreign or domestic has a legal right to put countless lives in danger and jeopardy by operating in any ocean at unheard of depths without any prior or previous research, study, standards of operation (SOPs) and procedures to mitigate this kind of tragedy.
