Nat King Cole - O Tannenbaum (In German) 3.03 min. | 4.9014087 avaliação | 98574 exibições "O Tannenbaum" is a song of German origin although no one really knows who wrote the melody. The first recording of lyrics to the tune reach back to 1550 although the best known version of the song is credited to Leipzig composer Ernst Anschutz in 1824. A "tannenbaum" is a fir tree (German: die tanne), and, of course, the song has been translated into English with the title "O Christmas Tree". It has been said the song was brought to England during the Victorian period by Prince Albert. Nat sings it here in German.. + Informações |

A re-imagined version of the Christmas favourite by Ernst Anschütz has been arranged by composer Ross Power and is played by the specially assembled 'Swingtop Philharmonic Orchestra', a troupe made up of some of the world's leading musicians and sound engineers. Led by conductor Thomas Blunt, seven percussionists, woodwind players and a timpanist create a beautiful rendition of the song using sounds dreamed up through each element of the legendary bottle -- glass, air, beer and the uniquely 'Grolsch' Swingtop. Dozens of Swingtop bottles provide the score with tuneful pops, clicks, jingle bells, güiro sounds, wind tuned with Grolsch beer, orchestral timpani, bass drum and the sound of a mysterious festive Grolsch 'glockenspiel' that provides the story with a stunning seasonal twist and climax..

| 5.0 avaliação | 5055 exibições This is a German carol written in 1837 by Johann Wilhelm Hey and set to music by Ernst Anschütz. I got the arrangement from a player of the Hayden duet concertina in Germany. It's interesting to play a simple and slow song, the phrasing and details become so important. Even just starting the tune and stopping it smoothly requires a lot of touch for a relatively new player like me. I'm sorry about the sound -- YouTube processes and compresses it, which squashes the dynamics and adds some harsh spikes. I tried reducing the volume of the sound on my end to at least remove the spikes, but it doesn't seem to help. I uploaded the same video to Vimeo, you can see it there: www.vimeo.com -- or even download the original 640x480 20 MB video file in Quicktime MPEG-4 format: www.vimeo.com. + Informações |
