"Is It You?" was one of the tracks from Lee Ritenour's 1981 jazz album "Rit", featuring vocals from Eric Tagg. It became a crossover hit reaching number fifteen on the pop chart and number twenty-seven on the soul chart. Lee Mack 'Captain Fingers' Ritenour is a guitarist, recording artist, composer and producer. He began his career at the age of 16 and has appeared on over 3000 sessions, recorded over 40 albums, and has charted over 30 instrumental and vocal contemporary jazz hits since 1976. Ritenour is considered to be a pioneer in the contemporary jazz and jazz-funk genres of music. Ritenour was born January 11, 1952 in Los Angeles, California. He played his first session when he was 16 with The Mamas & The Papas and given the moniker 'Captain Fingers' because of his manual dexterity on the guitar. His prolific career includes a Grammy Award for the collaborative work "Harlequin" (1985), and 17 other Grammy nominations. Ritenour also holds the distinction of having two of the promotional videos for his songs "Is It You?" and "Mr. Briefcase" being played during MTV's first day. Ritenour has been at the top of many guitar polls throughout the world. Throughout his career, Ritenour has experimented with different styles of music. Written, produced & performed by Eric Tagg Finally-- a collection of rarities by this internationally-known singer/songwriter/stylist, out of his private vault, straight from his heart to yours. Singer/songwriter Eric Tagg has been doing it for over 35 years, with three years spent in Holland, 5 years in LA, and the rest around Dallas, leading bands playing all-original material as well as singing with Lee Ritenour, Don Grusin, David Foster, Bill Champlin, Joseph Williams, Abraham Laboriel, Alex Acuna, Nathan East, Larry Carlton, Harvey Mason, and many others. Along with handling lead vocals on four Ritenour albums, Tagg has five solo albums of his own, featuring the songs in his 400+ catalog of originals. He worked as a session singer in Dallas for over 15 years, then turned to leading worship in various churches around Dallas, where he serves today, a devoted follower of Jesus Christ. Not content with being merely a musician, Eric has worked on three books with Bible scholar David Eells, and even wrote his own version of the events surrounding the JFK assassination in his 1999 book Brush With History. Younger brother of Larry Tagg, himself a successful artist and bassist with the group Bourgeois Tagg and Todd Rundgren, Eric learned to play bass on Larry's rig, then turned to piano and keyboards, flute, and dulcimer.
