Directed by Tony Palmer, the film incorporates pieces of six performances with narration by BBC announcer Patrick Allen, along with interviews with the band members themselves, showcasing their playing abilities. The film has often been criticized for both its mediocre sound and visual effects. In 2005, a special extended edition of the concert appeared featuring full versions of all songs separated from the narration and interviews. (Live 1968) Cream were a 1960s British blues-rock band and supergroup consisting of bassist/vocalist Jack Bruce, guitarist/vocalist Eric Clapton, and drummer/vocalist Ginger Baker. "Tales of Brave Ulysses" was written by Eric Clapton and the lyrics by artist Martin Sharp. The song is featured on Cream's album Disraeli Gears. The lyrics were written by Martin Sharp on the back of a beer mat, which he gave to Eric Clapton after a chance meeting. These lyrics were put to a melody inspired by Judy Collins' version of Leonard Cohen's "Suzanne" and chords inspired by The Lovin' Spoonful's "Summer in the City". The song also featured Eric Clapton's first use of the wah wah pedal (released a day before Hendrix's first wah wah single, "Burning of the Midnight Lamp"). This is one of the first recorded uses of the wah-wah pedal in rock music. The lyrics are inspired by Homer's Odyssey, an account of the adventures undertaken by Ulysses.. + Informações
