The Burge family visit the gardens of one of Enid Blyton's homes - Old Thatch near Bourne End, Bucks. She first moved there with her first husband Hugh Pollock on 2nd August 1929 and described it as "perfect both outside and in". Both of their daughters were born there but the family moved to "Green Hedges" ten years later. The current owners are Jacky & David Hawthorne who started renovating and restoring the gardens back in 2000 as it had been sadly neglected. The have done a spectacular job and it is well worth a visit. Just down the lane (across a timeless rail track) is beautiful river frontage to the Thames.. + Informações

A surprise 50p boot fair find - Top kiddies story writer Enid Blyton actually reading her Noddy tales on 78, with a help from her chums. I'm not sure if she or Noddy is known beyond these shores, but a very PC Noddy is still on our TV today in a CG stylee. + Informações
