"I wouldn't be doing it if I didn't like it I guess," said Wayne Samascott as he drives his plow truck through the snow. "Come end of February/March you start getting sick of it, but the beginning of the season you're looking forward to it." This will be a busy day for Wayne Samascott, who owns his own snow plowing business, WTS Enterprises. With this big storm, business is good. "I like the big storms. I like forward to them," he said. "Being out here in the weather and outside a lot. Of course the money never hurts anything." Despite his busy day, Samascott takes the time to make a stop that has nothing to the bottom line, but it makes a big difference to one particular family. "It's awesome," said Stacey Lee, whose husband is currently serving in the Navy. "It's a huge help. I wouldn't be able to do it by myself I don't think, especially with this snowstorm. Back when I started performing as a piano player singer songwriter, in the early 70s, Elton was one of the biggest influences on all of us, progressive rock, Gospel, boogie, funk, and great pop melodies. From 1987 to 2003, I served as pianist, saxophone and bandleader with Long John Baldry, Father of the British Blues scene, and the man who discovered Elton and helped to launch his amazing career. Baldry helped me get signed to my first record deal in Europe, and exposed me to thousands of music fans worldwide. If you're familiar with the Elton song, "Someone saved my life tonight" it's the story of how Long John saved Elton from going into a marriage, that would have sent him on a path that would have destroyed his music career. Elton and I were influenced by many of the same pianists, including Leon Russell, Mildred Falls, who played piano with Mahalia Jackson, and many great Gospel pianists. I occasionally do cover songs in my concerts, and Elton is one of my favorite artists to cover. I have 10 solo CDs released since 1995, with influences from so many great artists, and occasionally I still find myself being influenced by Elton John. I had a few days booked in a Vancouver studio, doing a solo CD. We just happened to have cameras there and captured these few songs in an impromptu concert for some close friends. The piano and vocal tracks were live in the studio, and I added a few drum loops and keyboard pads for a bigger sound. Check out my original music .... + Informações
