While ferrying several ambassadors to a conference on Ivor Prime, the USS Enterprise crew encounters a Naradan cargo vessel in apparent distress. However, there appears to be more to the ailing ship than meets the eye. I created this short July 2008 out of several scene frame sets that I had created for the 30-minute Animated STAR TREK episode that I was working on, plus a dozen or so new scenes. Clearly, this short film is presented with tongue firmly planted in cheek. Several people have written to me wondering why Kirk acts so aggressively against the "cargo ship." I figured it was clear that it was not intended to be serious. It is a classic shaggy-dog story with the requisite long build-up to the joke's punch line. Part of the fun was that she talks so long that the bridge crew can only react to what she says. It is also a parody of the much-maligned limited animation technique where most of the story is conveyed with dialogue and little or no action. In reality, Kirk clearly would not destroy the ship after learning the future events, he would beam aboard a security team to commandeer the ship and then escort it back to the nearest Federation base. TemaShika24 told me she's finished making a baby team and wants to try it out against me to see how it works. I would've wanted to use the Lil Pass, but this team I was facing was meant for double battles, it seems, and the Lil Pass just dosn't work as well under that condition. So I chose the Allen Pass. The battle went off to a rough start for me. Trick Room messed things up real bad, and it seems the entire team was tailored around it, even the speedy Pokémon like Pikachu. I had thought Pikachu was maxed out in Speed, which would've allowed me to set up a Light Screen for this mostly-special team. But I was wrong, and I was left without Golduck, a keystone of my team. It took me a while to knock out even one Pokémon. Gee, I need to get going and keep raising my monsters. I've only gotten a single Pokémon to Level 88 so far, though I've bred two others. I thought this song captured the whole intense hopelessness of Katniss's situation. I was so excited to see that a proper trailer has been released to this film that I couldn't resist making a video with the shinny new material. I'm still on the fence with my opinion of the trailer, they left a lot of the games scenes out which I think in the end will be a good thing because there will still be an element of surprise (I always hated the Harry Potter trailers because they literally showed everything).
