OH I WANT TO KILL SOMETHING!! You see, this is my second round entry to the "So you think you can vid" contest. I only found out that I had made it to round two about a week or so ago. That's my own fault for not checking! So, I was placed in the Evanescence group. I was okay with that, since I already had some Evanescence video ideas in mind. Originally, I was planning to make a Lord of the Rings video using "Hello" as kind of a character profile video for Eowyn. Simple enough, but here's the problem. After days of encoding the footage, I was still only half way through movie three. Big problem! Time to find a new idea! Huh...which one...? Hannibal and Clarice to "Lithium"? Hannibal to "Like You"? Hmm, I'll go with the Lithium idea! ... ... ...this is not working! That's it, new idea time again! Um...uh...I kinda like "Taking Over Me". Anyone got any Taking Over Me ideas? Eleanor randomly suggests Labyrinth. Well that's...something. Maybe I can work with that! One day left before the deadline. ... ...aww, to hell with it! I guess I have no choice but to make Labyrinth metal! So, as you can tell, I ended up making this in one day. Half a day. Three quarters of a day! I'm still not sure how that happened. This is the first part of an indepth interview with Wayne Baerwaldt the curator of the 2007 Montréal Biennale. I have known Wayne Baerwaldt since he was director of Plug In Inc. an artist Run Gallery in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada (1986-1999). We have not always seen eye to eye over the years, but there is a sense in this interview that both of us have mellowed. Wayne talks frankly about how the Biennale de Montréal came together, the choice of artists, his intuitive approach to curating, his vision of a Canadian Biennale, how and why the show was installed as it was, and his view of himself as an actor in the creative process and the production of culture. The interview is illustrated with shots of the works by over 30 of the artists in the show, see list below, most of which were taken during the opening of the exhibition. They give a taste of the energy of the show, rather than formally documenting the art. Wayne has a lot of experiences in his dealings with in the art world; his accomplishments are impressive, both locally and internationally (see this bio and CV ciac.ca He has many critics, but I think historically we will look back and acknowledge that he contributed greatly to opening up the international art scene to Canadian, and especially Winnipeg artists. This mix contains clips of remixes I did for Jeremy Greene in 2008: "Faith (Help Me)" "Rain" "Not My Fault" and "Hurt Me With The Truth" (my personal favorite). All artwork/cover art was also done be me. -- I was originally contacted by Jeremy Greene in the Spring of 2008 after he had hear a clip of a remix I did for his track "Not My Fault". The song is most famous for being featured in an episode of the TV series "Living Lohan" on E! Jeremy informed me that he liked the clip he heard and that he was working on his debut album under Interscope Records and offered me the chance to remix his (then) debut single "Rain". While remixing "Rain" I also remixed 2 other tracks, finished up a more proper demo of "Not My Fault" and began work on remixes for "What I Gotta Do", "Never (Be Fine) and "Believe" all by Jeremy. After hearing the tracks I worked on Jeremy offered me a production deal on June 14th 2008 (my 26th birthday) which could have been the best birthday present ever! Unfortunately, as it goes in the Entertainment Industry, Jeremy quickly became so extremely busy working on his album, filming his own series documenting the recording of the album and writing and producing for other artists that a final agreement between us was never reached and the remixes I did remain unreleased. hehe aces first show of the year! i was sooo pround of my little pony :) he went so much better than i expected :L that soundzs bad, that i expected him to play up, but then again hes not really got the best track record! ahh but he did go really well considering how busy it was, when we went into the ring he saw the flowers and was like 'woah, what are these scary things? i refuse to go near them' but he got to disracted when we jumped that i dont think he really noticed them :) but he noticed everything else, he wasnt really paying attention :L soo the classes :) i did the 60cm and the 70cm with him. in the 60cm he was looking about every where not really listening much but we got around with only 4 faults and that was only because i turned him a bit sharply at the corner. in the 70cm he was paying me slightly more attention, but not much :L we got 8 faults in it, but both were my fault again, just going into the jump with no momentum and taking a bad angle :) im so proud of my wee boy :) the next show we have planned isnt for a while so we can get holly fittened up and take her to it! and thank you to lindsey (xweelindzx) for videoing for me :). + Informações
