Echo Image - The neverending story ( fantasian mix ) The theme song performed by Limahl was released as a single in 1984, it peaked at #4 on the UK singles chart, #6 on the US Billboard Adult Contemporary chart, and #17 on the Billboard Hot 100. The American theme song has been covered by The Birthday Massacre, Creamy, Dragonland, Kenji Haga, and New Found Glory. Norwegian synthpop group Echo Image covered the song on their 2001 maxi-single Skulk, and German techno group Scooter covered the song on their 2007 album Jumping All Over the World. Echo Image is a Norwegian synthpop band. The band unofficially started in 1997 when Pål Magnus Rybom started experimenting with electronic music. Later that year Fredrik Hansen joined and Echo Image was officially formed with Trine Bilet joining towards the end of the year providing backing vocals and keyboards. Bilet is featured on the front cover of the Endless Day EP. In 1998, Echo Image recorded the Walkout EP, which was sold locally through a punk/prog label called Kvarts Musikk. Their musical style didn't really suit Kvarts, so in 2000 they signed to US synthpop label A Different Drum. Around this time Lars Kristian Holt joined as live guitarist. The 2000 single Need To Be Proud was mixed by Apoptygma Berzerk frontman Stephan Groth, who introduced them to the Norwegian label Hard:Drive. Unfortunately, the computer I played this on was not connected to the Internet, so the score (which would have absolutely shattered the current high score) wasn't saved. I'm pretty proud of this run. This is one of my favorite songs to play, and with DVP (which is far and beyond the most fun character to use), this was a really entertaining surf.
