Ela sofria de câncer e vinha se tratando em um hospital de Nova York. Ficou conhecida por canções como "Santa Baby", "Old Fashined Girl", "C'est Si Bon" e por sua interpretação de Mulher-Gato na série de TV Batman, produzida na década de 60 e que foi exibida no Brasil. A artista foi a terceira Mulher-Gato e entrou somente na última temporada, onde atuou em apenas três episódios. Alguns historiadores vêem a colocação de uma negra como Mulher-Gato uma verdadeira ousadia na época, outros já acham que foi por puro preconceito, pois Batman jamais se apaixonaria por uma vilã negra. Eartha apareceu em 3 episódios da série:"Catwoman´s Dressed to Kill", "Funny Feline Felonies" e "The Joke´s on Catwoman".
