DWIGHT TWILLEY BAND......SLEEPING 6.25 min. | 5.0 avaliação | 11649 exibições "Sleeping" (vocals by Dwight Twilley) is taken from the Dwight Twilley Band's album,"Twilley Don't Mind",released in August of 1977 on Arista Records. In my opinion, the "Twilley Don't Mind" album is one the purest & best pop albums ever made (there's not a weak song on the album) & why it wasnt a success in 1977 or pops up on a "Best Ever Albums" list from the music industry is a total mystery to me. Arista Records was devoting their entire time in promoting the "Bay City Rollers" in 1977 & forgot about the Dwight Twilley Band. Well,at least,Arista Records did one thing right ,they put Dwight Twilley Band on a brand new saturday morning kids show called.....In the early fall, they performed lip-synched versions of That I Remember, Chance To Get Away, Looking For The Magic, and Twilley Don't Mind on a Chris Beard-produced program called The WACKO Show ; intended to be a Saturday morning kids version of Laugh In , the program was barely on the air longer than it took to air their four episodes in September and October. It was missed by most fans (who were older) and didn't serve to attract a younger audience, either. A pre-superstardom Tom Petty appeared on bass alongside Twilley, Seymour, and Pitcock (Tom had guested on guitar on the album on Looking For The Magic, and was just starting his long run of hits). Because of this saturday morning show,(I was 14 yrs old at the time) I ran to my local "Mothers Records" store & bought the "Twilley Don't Mind" album(the only copy .... + Informações |

Dwight Twilley Band - Three Persons 2.17 min. | 5.0 avaliação | 1097 exibições from the "Sincerely" album released in 1976 on Shelter Records. The band consisted solely of Dwight Twilley (guitar, piano, lead and harmony vocals) and Phil Seymour (drums, bass, percussion, lead and harmony vocals), although touring band member Bill Pitcock IV played lead guitar on every song except for "Sincerely" itself. The album credited production to Oister, which was the original name of the Dwight Twilley Band; later reissues have credited production directly to Twilley and Seymour.. + Informações |

DWIGHT TWILLEY BAND...FALLIN IN LOVE..RARE & UNRELEASED SONG 3.77 min. | 4.714286 avaliação | 2627 exibições "Fallin In Love" (Lead Vocals by..Phil Seymour) is a very rare & unreleased song from the Dwight Twilley Band's album,"Twilley Don't Mind" album sessions released in August of 1977 on Arista Records. Why the song, "Fallin In Love" never made it on the "Twilley Don't Mind" album is a mystery to me, because, Fallin In Love could've been a single. The song actually appeared on the first cd release of the "Twilley Don't Mind" album as a bonus track on the DCC Compact Classics in 1990 & now long out of print. In my opinion, the "Twilley Don't Mind" album is one the purest & best pop albums ever made (there's not a weak song on the album) & why it wasnt a success in 1977 or pops up on a "Best Ever Albums" list from the music industry is a total mystery to me. DWIGHT TWILLEY.......DARLIN 3.22 min. | 5.0 avaliação | 207 exibições "Darlin" is taken from Dwight Twilley's album...."Twilley" from 1979..... Darlin also featured former Twilley Band bandmate "Phil Seymour" ( Seymour left the Dwight Twilley Band in 1978 for a solo career...) on backing vocals & was the last album for Arista Records that fullfilled the Dwight Twilley Band contract..... The "Twilley" album was a critics favorite for 1979, but failed to find an audience as Arista failed again to support Dwight Twilley as they failed to support their Arista debut...."Twilley Dont Mind" 2 years earlier in 1977....... + Informações |

DWIGHT TWILLEY just like the sun (1976) 3.83 min. | 5.0 avaliação | 269 exibições album : SINCERELY Though the Dwight Twilley Band only had one hit (Twilley had another on his own), Twilley and partner Phil Seymour created an enduring and highly memorable brand of power pop that blended Beatlesque pop and Sun rockabilly "slapback" echo. Only a fraction of the band's early output was made available at the time, but these records are highly revered by power pop aficionados. According to the legend, Dwight Twilley met Phil Seymour in 1967 at a theater where they had gone to see the Beatles' A Hard Day's Night. After the film they immediately went to Twilley's house to start writing and recording. The two continued the partnership over the next several years, calling themselves Oister and recruiting another part-time member, Bill Pitcock IV, on lead guitar. After developing their sound in their homemade studio, "the Shop," they decided to take a stab at professional recording and headed out to Nashville, though they ended up stopping first at the legendary Sun Studios. Jerry Phillips (Sam's son) was impressed enough to team them up with former Sun artist Ray Harris, who introduced them to "the Sun sound," roughing up their Beatles-obsessed style a bit and creating a unique and endearing sound. The two signed to Shelter Records in 1974. Their first single, "I'm on Fire," became a national hit in 1975, peaking at number 16, with relatively no promotion. During an appearance on American Bandstand, the band previewed what was to be the follow-up single, "Shark .... + Informações |
