This is my largest female guppy dropping a load of fry. She gave birth to about 40-50 in about an hour or two. I've managed to transfer 30 to another breeding tank. In the tank with the big guppy are also some platy fry which are about 3-4 weeks old and a few guppy fry which just appeared. I had wanted to make a video for the 75th anniversary of Jeremy's birth on November 3. Several ideas went through my head, but the solution was literally dropped at my feet. I was rummaging in a closet when an old VHS tape fell to the floor. It had the 20th anniversary tribute to Masterpiece Theater on it, taped back in 1991. The male calf, later named Beco (BEE-co), stood within 15 minutes. Phoebe's health was monitored throughout her pregnancy including an exercise regimen and regular ultrasounds and blood draws. On Wednesday her progesterone levels dropped significantly indicating the onset of the birthing process. This is 21-year-old Phoebe's third offspring and her second with sire Coco, 38 years of age. Phoebe and Coco made Columbus Zoo history on April 16, 2004 with the arrival of Bodhi (BO-dee), the Zoo's first successful elephant birth. Thirty-five-year-old Connie completes the Columbus Zoo elephant herd. After a two-and-a-half year legal battle with Plaintiff William G. Stowell, the doctor and hospital have settled the landmark circumcision case brought against them. The terms of the settlements have not been publicly disclosed. Twenty-one-year old Stowell filed suit December 19, 2000, in the US District Court for the Eastern District of New York, against the hospital where he was circumcised and the physician who circumcised him as a newborn.
