Living with Rett from a Divine Perspective "FAVOR FROM GOD ON THE OPERATING TABLE" Our beloved daughter Moriah was born with Rett Syndrome. Rett Syndrome is a neurological and developmental disorder that occurs mostly in females. Moriah developed scoliosis, a curving of the spine, which is one of the symptoms of Rett. Her internal organs and lungs were beginning to be compressed due to the curving of her spine. Moriah's doctor had said that if her spine continued to curve, she would need surgery. He also said that there are risks involved with having spinal infusion surgery, such as paralysis. In addition to the possibility of becoming paralyzed, she could suffer from other complications or even die. What do you do or say after hearing such dreadful news about your daughter whom you love? We were very fearful and troubled in heart and mind, so we went to Jesus. I remember asking Jesus to do for Moriah the same healing miracle he did for the people in the four gospels. I prayed, "Jesus, make Moriah's spine straight by Your divine power; I believe that You are alive and that You are God, so please heal my daughter." We wanted an immediate miracle from Jesus. Being inspired to do intensive research directed by what I can't explain as being inspired by anything other than divine intervention, I found earplugstore.com and Pro Ears 33. These comfortable muffs have the highest noise reduction rating (NRR) of 33. They block 118dB. While I can still hear noise going on around me, including fireworks, I can tolerate them and without being startled. I am still working on a solution to further cancel out children and dogs.
