The beautiful, uncrowded beaches are perfect for taking walks, as well as snorkeling in the crystalline water and swimming. The beaches of Anse Source d'Argent, Grand Anse, Severe Petite Anse, Anse Union are the most well known and beautiful beaches on La Digue. Petit Anse and Grand Anse are beautiful beaches, but the currents make them dangerous for swimming. Some people consider La Digue to be the most beautiful island because of the combination of palm lined beaches, crystal blue waters, and enormous granite boulders. La Digue has a fish market at La Passe, which is full of fishermen selling fresh fish. You can rent a bicycle and travel all over the relatively flat coastal areas and beaches from the Anse Fourmis to the Grand Anse. La Digue Island is also the name of an upscale resort that is located farther inland close to a bird sanctuary called Veuve Reserve. Veuve Reserve is the home to numerous bird species, including the Black Paradise Flycatcher. There are only about 100 of these birds in existence. Many of the attractions of La Digue are located only a short boat ride away from the larger island of Praslin. Tourists from every part of the world come to La Digue in the Seychelles so they can enjoy a wonderful vacation in comfortable, affordable accommodations, including the resort, lodges, and guest houses. Most of the activity is near the dock and the one road leading from it to the old coconut plantation. The rest of the island is still quite relax - if there's no ship offshore, you'll find La Digue a very pleasant place. The attractions are quite low-key - you can climb to the top of the mountain in the middle of the island for spectacular views, ride bikes to secluded beaches, visit the (tiny) black paradise flycatcher reserve hoping to see one of the rare birds, or tour the plantation. The giant granite boulders along some of the beaches (especially Anse Source d'Argent) are very photogenic - you may well run into a fashion shoot. Plan at least two nights.. + Informações

Hier einige Ansichten aus dem Wasser, von einem der bekanntesten Strände der Welt, Anse Source d' Argent auf der Seychellen Insel La Digue. Vom National Geographic wurde er als bester Strand der Welt 2010 gekürt. Bekannt ist er auch aus der TV Werbung und fälschlichweise ist er auch in fast allen Hotelbeschreibungen für die Seychellen sichtbar, obwohl sich die meisten der gezeigten Hotels garnicht auf La Digue befinden! Es gab nicht wenige die hofften, den sogenannten Bacardi Strand ganz leicht erreichen zu können, zumindest von Mahe aus wäre dies ein anstrengender und teurer Tagesausflug, aber wer will schon dieses fast einmalige Panorama verpassen, wenn man schon mal auf den Seychellen ist!? Als bester Strand der Welt wurde auch schon der Anse Lazio vor einigen Jahren geehrt, er befindet sich auf der Nachbarinsel Praslin. In den letzten Wochen gab es dort 2 tödliche Hai Angriffe, die ersten dieser Art seit 1963 auf den Seychellen. Dies ist natürlich ein riesiger Schock, sowohl für die Touristen als auch die hiesige Bevölkerung/Regierung, da der Tourismus mit Abstand der wichtigste Wirtschaftsfaktor ist! Als Übeltäter wird ein Bullenhai vermutet und die Opfer sind Touristen aus Frankreich und Großbritannien. Die Behörden vor Ort haben Unterstützung aus Südafrika angefordert und hoffen nun dieses spezielle Tier zu fangen. Es bleibt abzuwarten ob dies gelingt und wieviele andere Haie "dran glauben" müssen.. + Informações
