The nation's terrorist watch list has hit one million names, according to a tally maintained by the American Civil Liberties Union based upon the government's own reported numbers for the size of the list. "Members of Congress, nuns, war heroes and other 'suspicious characters,' with names like Robert Johnson and Gary Smith, have become trapped in the Kafkaesque clutches of this list, with little hope of escape," said Caroline Fredrickson, director of the ACLU Washington Legislative Office. "Congress needs to fix it, the Terrorist Screening Center needs to fix it, or the next president needs to fix it, but it has to be done soon." Erica Kilcoyne went to her mailbox this past weekend, expecting an $8000 check from the state for her Easton day care center. Like dozens of child-care providers across the state, Kilcoyne depends on the monthly payment, which covers children who attend her center and are enrolled in the state voucher program. The voucher program offers low-income families financial aid for child care. Providers are reimbursed by the state at a reduced and delayed rate, typically two months later. Instead of getting the check on Friday for her June invoice, Kilcoyne received a letter saying not to expect one "possibly" until the end of August. She panicked. "Every week that I pay my teachers, I'm giving them money I hope I will be getting in two more months," said Kilcoyne, of Brockton, who owns Cowlicks & Pigtails Childcare Center in Easton. "Every day without this money is hell. What am I supposed to tell my landlord?" she asked. Today's mill is the third one built on this site. The first two were built by George Frederick Bollinger, who came to this area in 1797 from North Carolina. He received a 640-acre land grant from Don Louis Lorimer, the Spanish commandant at Cape Girardeau. In return for the land, Bollinger agreed to develop the land and to bring more settlers from the east. He returned to North Carolina and in 1800, brought 20 families including six of his brothers and their families back to settle along the banks of the Whitewater River Burfordville Covered Bridge, built by Joseph Lansmon, was started in 1858. The Civil War, however, delayed construction and the bridge was not completed until 1868. It has undergone many repairs through the years with the last major renovation completed in 1950 by the state highway department. This was a trip to the Dupont State Forest in Brevard, NC for early spring trout fishing. This is a delayed harvest area so all the trouts caught were catch and released. It's not about the size but the enjoyment and beauty of it all. We caught a lot of trout that day. The views of this place is just spectacular and breath taking. In pod2g's latest blog post he talks about the progress of the iOS 5.0 and iOS 5.0.1 UNTETHERED Jailbreak. recently we heard news that Apple has patched his exploit he was going to use for the iPad 2 and the iPhone 4S so research has to start all over again. People who donated for the support of the Jailbreak should be happy to know that pod2g spent the donations on an iPhone 4S and an iPad 2 for testing. The blog post titled "Progress" says: "Hello my friends,I know that I've been silent yesterday and that it was annoying. Sorry for this, but I had to organize things for the release. Also, I've tested iPad 1 and it worked. Today I hope I can test a 3Gs. BTW: please don't propose to be a beta tester because I'm too paranoid, fearing leaks. Now the time to finalize the jailbreak for old devices, fix some stability issues and package the whole.That will take some days. SULU, Philippines (Mindanao Examiner / Dec. 04, 2007) -- Disgruntled government teachers continued their protest Tuesday in the southern Philippine province of Sulu, demanding salaries that remain unpaid for months now. The strike began Monday after a few hundred teachers walked out of their school rooms to demand their wages and an investigation into alleged anomalies involving hundreds of millions of pesos in state pension contributions. The teachers complained that they have not been paid their wages the past months by the Department of Education in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) and that their contributions to the state pension agency which are worth over 600 million pesos since 2003 were also missing. They earlier threatened to stage a mass protest should ARMM Gov. Zaldy Ampatuan fail to act on their problems. More than 5000 teachers are currently teaching in Sulu province. Sulu Gov. Sakur Tan on Tuesday appealed to the teachers to end their strike and return to work. Tan has ordered the creation of team, composed of teachers and education officials that will look into the problems of the teachers. "We will look into these problems and try to resolve it peacefully in coordination with the Department of Education in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao," he told reporters. Tell me what you think. In the vid the coil is putting out 72 VDC x 0.06 A = 4.32 Watts...under normal circumstances, this should slow the wheel considerably and cause the amp draw of the drill to rise considerably as well. In this vid, the amp draw of the drill goes down approximately 0.2 A...so that's also an input wattage savings of 12vdc x 0.2A = 2.4 Watts...do you see where this leads?...lol. Prior to making the vid, I ran the AC (80vac) from the coil through an incandescent bulb (20W bulb-made it glow red) with the exact same result as in the vid. I also tried running the 72vdc 0.06A straight into another deep cycle 12v battery that I have and it instantly started to charge slowly with the same results as in the vid. Also, just for clarification, the magnet poles are alternating and they attract through the core. The channel that I mention in the vid is ThaneCHeins. The effect that he demonstrates is the same but my coil design is a bit different...it has an Ed Leedskalnin aspect to it. My coil needs refining/testing...it could be much better...and more need to be made.
