Here is a totally rare track coming from Deborahe Glasgow, the First Lady of Ariwa, brought to you by courtesy of Neil Fraser aka Mad Professor. When Neil first had the idea of building a studio back in the 70's, Debbie Gee as she was known, was the perfect artist to start with as her mum and his aunt were best friends and they both had a love for the sound of Deniece Willliams. Their first release together didn't do so well, so Deborahe felt the need to move on and she joined a label in Balham where she had a hit with 'Falling In Love'. Neil went on to work with artists like Sandra Cross, Sister Audrey, Lorna Gee and Paulette Tajah and by 1985 had broken through and begun to monopolise the lovers rock market with these singers. He recorded this track with Deborahe and by the time he was due to re-sign her to Ariwa, she had moved to Greensleeves, so they didn't have the chance to release it. This song was originally recorded by Stevie Wonder in 1967, but the most well-known version of this song was done by Aretha Franklin, who had a million selling, top 10 hit, reaching #1 on the R&B charts in 1974.. + Informações

The blessed Ms Deborahe Glasgow gives a lovers-rock rendition of SWV's (Sisters With Voices) early 90s soul hit 'Weak'. This tune happened to be the very last one Ms Glasgow recorded and had a reggae chart hit with late '93, before sadly passing over to the Father in January '94. Have to give thanks that I had the pleasure of seeing Ms Glasgow perform what I believe was her last major performance at the Hackney Empire. I'll never forget how she came on stage, happy that she was beating her fight against cancer, stuck her backside in the air to the crowd and said something to the effect "you ain't seen the last of 'this' yet". A true UK lovers-rock Queen... taken too early, but forever living through music.. + Informações
