Eu passava aqui para ir à escola,via algumas pessoas andando, senti curiosidade e pedi um skate de presente de aniversário para o meu pai", recorda Thaís Caroline Pinto. Sete anos depois, ela continua freqüentando a estrutura do Complexo Esportivo Lagoão, em Apucarana, para treinar. Na época, nem imaginava que hoje se tornaria uma das melhores da categoria no Brasil. A skatista vai ao espaço de segunda a sexta-feira, depois do colégio e no finalzinho da tarde. Nas rampas ela treina suas manobras preferidas, como flip, flip back, hard flip e ollie. No sábado e domingo, ela vai para outras cidades com estrutura melhor para a modalidade street. "Nos finais de semana busco lugares mais estruturados para a modalidade street, como Londrina, Maringá e Ibiporã", conta. Ela ressalta que esportistas de outras cidades vêem para Apucarana treinar a modalidade Banks. Tanta dedicação já lhe rendeu quase 100 títulos. Os troféus e shapes estão por todos os lados e fazem parte da decoração do seu quarto. No início do mês, o reconhecido veio da Câmara de Vereadores de Apucarana que conferiu à esportista menção honrosa, pela conquista do Campeonato Paranaense de Skate, em 2009.
