Il continue en disant qu'il a lui-même un tatouage (certainement imaginaire, ceux qui ont lu sa bio se rappeleront ces histoires hypothétiques de tatouages qu'il n'a d'ailleurs pas), c'est un Elvis juste à la jonction de sa jambe et de son pied et lorsqu'il le bouge Elvis dit: "thank you very much" et que ça fait toujours son effet auprès des gamins à Thanksgiving. Il parle ensuite d'un concours que fait Crayola, la célèbre marque de crayons couleurs, où les gosses proposent de nouveau nom de couleur. Parmi ces noms il a trouvé "Purple Mountain Majesty" qu'il a trouvé génial. Les tatouages modernes ne sont plus juste noirs et gris (si on veut) mais "rouge cerise", "vert élèctrique" et...."Purple Mountain Majesty". Tout cela lui parle. Ce ne sont plus les bikers et ceux qui vont au festival Lolapalooza qui se font tatouer, c'est le tout venant maintenant qui porte des "tampons". Il ya pour lui différentes qualités de tatouages, c'est comme les dentistes ou les médecins, chaque artiste dessine différement et a son propre style. Mais .... + Informações

I think a lot of Van Halen's music could be construed as heavy metal. A lot of it can't be construed as any specific kind of music except power rock or what we call big rock. In essence, that's high velocity music, there's a lot of storm and thunder, a lot of sturm und drang. And you use volume as a tool to drive out the evil spirits. And people construe this as 'well, it's so loud that it has to be heavy metal'. But I see a lot of these categories as being based mostly on haircuts and shoes. Well my haircut's right for heavy metal but maybe my shoes are all wrong. I think what you have, there's an old japanese axiom, an old japanese saying that says 'two of the most opposites extremes become the same thing sooner or later'. I don't know if they said 'sonner or later', that doesn't sound so japanese to me either. But you know you get the gist of it. And what it means, in terms of Van Halen, in the context of this band and my schtick especially, is that a lot of people are looking at the same characters and seeing vastly two different things. A lot of people look at Dave Roth and they say 'oh, what a fob, oh man, what a wish-wash, no way he's getting into the bar'. And on the other hand, you got the guys with the leather up to their tush and they talk like this. And they say 'yeah, that's Dave, that's our hero'. And they put it up on the banner. Van Halen and Van Halen music, much more so than theater, is some sort of therapy. I think it ranks right up there with football .... + Informações
