The Life and Work of (Royce) Glenn Sutton: Songwriter~ Producer A key figure in the success of Tammy Wynette, Lynn Anderson and David Houston, Glenn Sutton is best remembered for writing such notable classic country songs as "I Don't Wanna Play House," "She Still Comes Around" and "Rose Garden." Glenn and his frequent songwriting partner and record producer Billy Sherrill, were two chief architects of the countrypolitan sound, a smooth mixture of pop and country music that was hugely popular during the late 1960s and throughout the 1970s. A 1999 inductee into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, he and Sherrill won a Grammy for writing "Almost Persuaded." Glenn Sutton was born on September 28, 1937 in Hodge, Louisiana. Sutton grew up in Henderson, Texas and began honing his songwriting skills at an early age. He attended Brandon (Texas) High School from 1952 -1955. Glenn played clubs around Jackson, Mississippi with Murray Kellum. During that time (circa 1963), He had a single on the flip-side of Murray's hit, "Long Tall Texan." Glenn moved to Nashville in 1964 and virtually from the start, he found an audience for his songwriting talents. Glenn signed with Al Gallico Music as a staff writer in 1964 and Starday Music published his first songs that year. Sutton's songwriting career flourished after he began working with Bill Sherrill, who found success by adding pop overtones to recordings by David Houston, Tammy Wynette, Charlie Rich and others. The Professional Work of Songwriter & Record Producer, Norro Wilson Norro Wilson has written some of country music's most indelible hits for such artists as David Houston, George Jones, Charley Pride, Charlie Rich, Joe Stampley and Tammy Wynette. In addition to writing award-winning songs, Wilson is also a legendary producer who has produced records for John Anderson, Janie Fricke, Reba McEntire, Tammy Wynette and several for Joe Stampley. Wilson also has found success as an Artists and repertoire (A&R) executive. Norro Wilson was born on April 4, 1938, in Scottsville, Kentucky. He got his first taste of musical success when he and three high school friends formed a barbershop quartet and won a local contest. During that time, Wilson made regular trips to Nashville with his family to attend an all-night gospel review. It was there that he received an offer to sing tenor for the Southlanders Quartet. Wilson toured with the Southlanders until 1960, when he left to perform as a duo with Don Gant. He got his first publishing contract with Acuff-Rose in 1962. In 1967, Wilson became a song-plugger for Al Gallico Music, a job that would last fourteen years. During his tenure at Gallico, Wilson began writing songs for the publisher. Buck Norris sings "My Elusive Dreams" by Charlie Rich. Despite his lack of consistent commercial success, Epic Records signed Rich in 1967, mainly on the recommendation of producer Billy Sherrill. Sherrill helped Rich refashion himself as a Nashville-based, smooth, middle-of-the-road balladeer. At first, the singles were only moderately successful -- "Set Me Free" and "Raggedy Ann" charted in the mid-40s in 1968 -- but persistence paid off in the summer of 1972, when "I Take It on Home" rocketed to number six. "I Take It on Home" set the stage for Rich's big breakthrough into the mainstream, 1973's Behind Closed Doors album. The title track from the record became a number one hit early in 1973, crossing over into the Top 20 on the pop charts. Following the success of "Behind Closed Doors," RCA re-released "Tomorrow Night," which reached the Top 30, but it was "The Most Beautiful Girl," the proper follow-up to his first number one single, that established him as a star. "The Most Beautiful Girl" spent three weeks at the top of the country charts and two weeks at the top of the pop charts. Behind Closed Doors won three awards from the Country Music Association that year: Best Male Vocalist, Album of the Year, and Single of the Year for the title track. The album was also certified gold, Rich won a Grammy for Best Country Vocal Performance, Male, and he also took home four ACM awards. After "The Most Beautiful Girl," number one hits came quickly -- "There Won't Be Anymore .... + Informações

"the chick magnet" 1892 Lange Ulig (Tripe reed) Chemnitzer Concertina Accordian Solo. An extremely rare concertina with a deep ebony black frame and wonderful mother-of-pearl inlaid flowers. The effect is eye-popping "spectacular"! A delightful and powerful soundbox for the bass is found on the other side. An amazing "lady bug" is engraved on the air lever, it doesn't get better than this!!!! Honestly!! And, certainly, this concertina deserves its' new hand straps!!! Words and music on this song by C Putnam and B Sherrill. Exceeding 100 years of age, this very old instrument needs its' voice to be heard!! Truly, many of the younger women like this extremely old concertina. I don't mind that at all! Truly, if I was a younger guy and didn't play the accordian or concertina, you might want to learn how to play one. It could change your life. "my elusive dreams". + Informações

Album: ~ I'm Still Loving You, Dot Records DPS-26020 (1974); Single: I'm Still Loving You DOT-17485; Written By: Glenn Sutton & George Richey; Producer: Norro Wilson Joe Stampley who was born on June 6, 1943 in Springhill, Louisiana, brought innovative shades of soul and rock to his enviable string of country hits during the 1970s and 1980s. It all came naturally for Joe, who began his career with a rock 'n' soul band called the Uniques. During both careers, his sound was grounded in heartfelt country music, big beat rhythm and blues and the goodtime release of early rock 'n' roll. His greatest fame came via a series of bestselling novelty duets with fellow country star Moe Bandy. In the 1960s, Stampley was the main singer for the rock group, The Uniques. The group was based out of Shreveport, Louisiana and performed in Arkansas, Louisiana and Texas. In 1965, The Uniques recorded, "Not Too Long Ago," the first national hit for Paula Records. One year later, they followed with "All These Things." The Uniques released four original albums and one greatest hits compilation, between 1965 and their 1970 breakup. Most of the Uniques' material was rooted in rhythm and blues, rock, pop and swamp pop genres. In 1971, Stampley signed with ABC-Dot and recorded seven country albums that produced such hits as "Soul Song" (No. 1, 1972), "Too Far Gone" (No. 12, 1973), "If You Touch Me, You 've Got To Love Me" (No. 9, 1972), "I'm Still Loving You" (No. 3, 1973) and the remake of "All .... + Informações
