The original version of "Stay" can be found on Dave's Album "Paper Monsters" and the original version of "Introspectre" can be found on Depeche Mode's album "Playing The Angel". Paper Monsters is the solo debut album by Depeche Mode lead singer Dave Gahan. It was released by Mute Records on June 2, 2003 in Europe. The album was produced by Ken Thomas, who is best known for his work with Icelandic band Sigur Rós. Upon its debut, critical reception was generally mixed; while many complimented the album's personal subject matter, others described it as lacking depth. Paper Monsters became a modest success in the UK where it debuted at number thirty-six on the albums chart, but it was a big success in the German, Swedish and Swiss charts, reaching there the Top 10. In North America, the album was released on June 3, 2003; however, it failed to make much of an impact on the mainstream charts, although the tour "Paper Monsters Tour" had some impact, especially on Depeche Mode fans. One concert of the tour, the one on 4-5.07 in Paris at the Olympia, was recorded and released on a DVD called "Live Monsters". From this album, four songs were released on three singles: "Dirty Sticky Floors", "I Need You" and "Bottle living" / "Hold on" (the last was a double A-side, so two album songs were released on the same single: "Bottle living" and "Hold on"). Depeche Mode are just about ready to record their 12th album, says frontman Dave Gahan. The record will be produced by Ben Hillier, but Gahan says Depeche Mode co-founder Martin Gore will step up with more production responsibilities than on previous LPs. "We've got about 20 songs demoed and we're going to begin recording at the end of next month," he recently told Rolling Stone. "It's a very different process from what it used to be. You've got to put interesting people around you, you've got to work with people who are gonna inspire you to take the songs you've written into a completely different direction, because there's nothing more boring than going to the studio and predictably knowing what is going to happen." Soulsavers, the music and production team of Rich Machin and Ian Glover, have released three LPs since 2003 with a variety of guest vocalists -- most notably Mark Lanegan, known for a long solo career as well as work with Screaming Trees, Queens of the Stone Age and the Gutter Twins. But The Light the Dead See, due May 22nd on Mute, will have a new voice -- Depeche Mode frontman Dave Gahan. Featuring vocals and lyrics by Dave Gahan, the record is the follow-up to 2009's critically acclaimed album 'Broken'. Recorded at various locations and mastered at Abbey Road, the record will be available on CD, LP and as a download. "There was no real script," says the laconic Rich Machin of the extraordinary fourth album 'The Light The Dead See', a set of songs of majesty and momentum. "It just rolled and rolled; it was effortless." Yet the writing was on the wall from the moment Dave Gahan stepped in to tackle vocal duties that this was going to be something very special. "We realised we were coming from the same place in so many ways," adds Machin. "He's really laid himself bare on this record, his performances are astonishing: he really is a terrific singer."
