Zhang's talk gives an overview of the spectrum of network mobility research from uncontrolled (ZebraNet) to fully controllable swarming systems (SensorFly). The talk first gives a brief intro on uncontrolled mobility by introducing the ZebraNet system. ZebraNet is a sparse mobile network designed for zebra tracking in areas with scarce infrastructure. The talk continues to explore controlled mobility through SensorFly. CyLab presents Jon McCune, research systems scientist at Carnegie Mellon University, as part of the weekly seminar series. Recent research demonstrates that malware can infect peripherals' ?rmware in a typical computer system, eg, by exploiting vulnerabilities in the ?rmware itself or in the ?rmware update tools. Verifying the integrity of peripherals' ?rmware is thus an important challenge. McCune's research proposes software-only attestation protocols to verify the integrity of peripherals' ?rmware, and show that they can detect all known software-based attacks. He and his team implement our scheme using a Netgear GA620 network adapter in an x86 PC, and evaluate our system with known attacks.. + Informações
