I know this particular video has to be out there at least a million times, but each video is different somehow. This is my turn to upload one of the coolest final boss fights and endings of the Final Fantasy series, and it's also my first non-nintendo video game upload. (the VG collection doesn't count here, I wasn't playing them) Ok, now I can go into more detail. This is one of the best major battles (in my opinion) of the Final Fantasy series, but then again, this is also the only final boss i've ever beaten in any FF game (it's like, I go and do sidequests, and I just never decide to fight the final boss, or in the case of IV, i'm not there yet) You may question some of my equipment, use of Umaro to get to Kefka, and strategy after watching this. The truth is, I wasn't really thinking, though I have an excuse for many things. Umaro is in the group because I've barely used Relm and Gau up to this point, so they lack their better abilities. (only used them when they HAD to be in the party, Gau was never taught magic, and Relm was in the party for such a short time, she only knows Fire, Ice, Bolt, and Cure) As for my strategy, you'll notice my primary attack style was to have Sabin Bum Rush everything, Terra use double Meteor, Edgar use the AutoCrossbow, and Mog use Meteor. Last lap of race & post race coverage live coverage. There are lots of posts of this race here, but they always seem to be cut up or they have some kind of "poignant" music covering up the audio, so having my own tape of the whole race, I decided we needed an unedited version as it was live on TV at the time it happened w. the original audio the victory lane & the commentary before everyone knew how serious the whole deal was. The only things I cut out were the commercials & the tag at the end closing the broadcast and some brief stuff (part of the field rundown) to keep this under 10 minutes. There is an interesting roof-top (NOT in-car) camera shot of the crash from Earnhardt's car that I didn't even remember and hadn't seen since (I hadn't looked at this tape since it happened). As I remember watching this live, after the interview w. Ken Schrader, I said "he's dead" and didn't turn the TV off after Fox went off the air, but switched over to ESPN and waited for the inevitable announcement. I wasn't myself an Earnhardt fan. I rooted for Ward Burton, who had a strong car that day and looked like a threat, but was caught up in the big wreck earlier in the race. That he wasn't a fluke was proved when he won the next year. Nutnfancy wilderness outing vids are pretty much like a reality TV show at this point. As "Summer Snow Episode 4" picks up, you come along for our firemaking exercise as it continues at high elevation. My philosophy on it has been covered in other TNP vids but here I have to instruct my son in it. It's a skill that must be practiced and fully understood. In good weather, dry conditions, and low wind, firemaking is easy. But we practice worse case here, getting to dry wood and its sharp edges by cutting down and batoning some dead wood. Tools are the excellent Sawvivor backpack saw and Ontario Spec-Plus Gen II SP-46 (reviewed separately). We practice safe cutting too;: a bad cut up here could mean bad things. A gratifying fire results (note all unburned wood was extinguished, dispersed, hidden afterwards to prevent eyesore). No fire ring was needed or made for this temporary practice blaze. We get distracted by Allie's antics in the mountain ponds as she gets to practice some "duck" retrieves. Then water adventure ensues with Last Suspect and "dogness" going out in the awesome Sevylor Trailboat. Danger lurks in the 40ºF water and we take appropriate cautions (discussed in vid). The funnest and safest rafting takes place on the ponds where the wind is diminished. Great memories. Dinner time rolls around as video length time runs out. .
